Do kids HAVE to announce that they are transferring via portal? bc I don't see any currently in the portal worth taking rn.. lol. There are some fantastic players and AAs in the portal I meant liberos, help me out I haven't watched any vball before the tournament |

I'm just glad we don't have to wait the usual 8 months to see some more indoor volleyball after this season. Glad we only have to wait about 3-4 months now. I mean, Wahine fans have been waiting since December 2019  It's been way too long! |

Who are the liberos/DSes in the transfer thread? The only ones I can remember are Appiani (MN), Kuck (KSU), Kinley (OK), Cruzelo (Notre Dame), and Basham (TAMU). Who are the others?

That's what I was thinking too. Having another year of Van Sickle indoor and on the beach would be stellar! Perhaps this was mentioned already, but currently Van Sickle is listed on the "Seniors Returning for the Fall 2021 Season" thread along with Hanawahine and Williams. So unless she has a change of heart, there is a good chance that she'll be playing for the indoor team in the Fall. Jolie is the biggest question mark at the moment, though I expect that it is highly likely that the other seniors will be competing in the Fall. |

I wonder if Jolie needed to take a heavy course load this semester in order to get into grad school so she is asking Robyn to let her focus on school. She will then spring the news that she is coming back and get everybody all jacked up. Not going thru off season workout could hurt her though. We got couple of new setters whom she have to work with to get the timing down and highly regarded players coming in. Hope she is at least running and staying in shape.

I like Robyn's recruiting philosophy: Be transparent and only recruit girls who will authentically be happy at Hawaii. The fact that Jolie hasn't entered herself into the portal is a good sign at this point. A 2021 squad with Jolie would be ridiculously good. Have no doubts about Kate Lang at setter. I believe she set an upset of #1 HS team Byron Nelson. |

For the record, koavball mentioned Hawaii might get a libero transfer and that a highly rated '22 recruit de-committed from and that Hawaii is in the mix. These are the only two potential recruits that have been mentioned. We shall see! I mentioned a 6’3 quick Maglio-like middle from Poland. |

Heard that the USF coach is leaving the program. Last time this happened, all the starters transferred. They have some good players too. Hoping Hawaii can get in if there is a transfer exodus

Many other programs are losing players, gaining players and Hawaii seems more or less set where they are at - altho I'm sure there will likely be an addition or two as this transfer portal begins to expand. In any case, I think its a good sign that given all the adversity Hawaii has had, they've basically maintained their full roster and all the incoming recruits prior to COVID all signed. Shows Ah Mow and her staff have truly got a culture where those that come WANT to be here and are more or less committed to finishing their time here as well. Given how far-flung the Wahine team is in terms of where they are from, it really is a pleasant surprise our roster is intact. |
