I posted a couple older videos of Annika. Though I think we can all speculate about how good she currently is. I believe she missed the Dutch U20 roster, not a great sign. I searched and I can't find it.? I don’t believe there is any video on Annika herself. There might be videos of her playing for Talentteam Papandal. This is where you got to kind of look for her in the videos. Not highlights but a Facebook send off for Annika; www.facebook.com/ttpapendalarnhem/

According to avid, Leoniak will be called up to participate in U20 competition again. We'll see if De Goede gets called up too. Annika is already here, doubt she’ll get called up!

UH second summer session begins tomorrow so I’m guessing quite a few of the fall sports athletes are here and getting a jump on their school work.

It will good to have 2 Freshman who bring different looks to the rightside of the court competing for time. Looking forward to seeing what Westerberg and Akana have improved on but we have solid options in Dermitas and De Goede, who will both have the room to develop.

So there's two lefties at the pins?

So there's two lefties at the pins? De Goede is the only lefty but she’s likely the best defender out of the 4 options UH will have, so wouldn’t be surprised if she sees majority backrow time and hits the D ball if the others still need work.

So far the confirmed non conference matches are the following : August 27-29 Rainbow Wahine Classic….TAMU, Marquette and Fairfield, Hawaii Sept 3-4 Utah Classic…Utah, USD, CP, Hawaii Sept 10-11 UH vs USC. I think that is all the non conference opponents we can play because of the addition of UCSD and Bakersfield, we will be playing 20 conference matches. If that is the case, then the schedule is kind of set. We just don’t know who and when for conference. In 2019, we played 28 NCAA regular season matches….29 if you count the Alumni match. If UH is holding an alumni match again this season, we can only play 1 more match to reach the NCAA maximum of 30 matches allowed. I think this is a pretty good non conference schedule. Only Fairfield falls under the category of “not big name “ team. Everybody else are post season type teams.a Don’t think this was addressed yet, but there will likely be two more non-conference matches for Hawaii. UCSD has their schedule out already and it shows conference matches starting 9/24 and they have a non-conference tournament on 9/17-9/18. I also checked and they were able to fit their entire 20 conference matches in with 2 per week.

The conference starts 9/24 so I figured UH will either play 2 at home with somebody or find a tournament to play on the mainland to fill the hole between USC and the start of conference. There is a home football on 9/18 so the UH is going to have to play on a Thursday/Friday or a Friday/Sunday if they can find an opponent to come to Hawaii. Maybe a Chaminade/HPU series? Also at the Utah Classic , it doesn’t look like UH will play Cal Poly there even though both UH and CP will be at the tournament. It’s an odd tournament. They have 4 teams there but is only played over two days.

Many conferences will be heading into conference play and might not want to fly here and then fly back home and dive right into conference matches. Another tournament at home is not possible because there are only two days to play the matches due to football being played on SAT. 9/18. Who knows? ….maybe Robyn would prefer a bye and keep that week open to prepare for conference. Playing the smaller schools might be a negative(not helping the RPI, possible injury in meaningless matches, etc..) so maybe that week will be kept open for the team to just practice and work on things.
