Annika supposedly has a 313cm spike reach(10-3) so she can get up there too.Yes….Demirtas being 6-5 and only has a 10-1 reach is not good but she will have time to work on it. My hope is that Annika is better than advertised. The problem is there is no video on her so we’re all left to speculate how good she is. I posted a couple older videos of Annika. Though I think we can all speculate about how good she currently is. I believe she missed the Dutch U20 roster, not a great sign.One of the opposites that did make the Dutch U20 team is Annika's teammate Nicole van de Vosse who apparently outplayed her for the starting spot this past season for Talentteam Papendal, Annika became the second option. Talenteam Papendal is coached by Selinger who is also the current Dutch Women's NT head coach. Six players from the club made the U20 roster except Annika, which I agree is not a good sign. The potential is probably there, just needs more work. She is part of the group of young players that the Dutch hope to develop as their next generation in the coming years. |

Demirtas has a year to work on that approach, her vertical is not that good as well. She and De Goede better watch out because Hawaii will have another Opposite coming in next year with a better arm and vertical jump. If you’re speaking of Alexander, it’s probably more likely that she moves to the left full time as BVS will be graduating. |

Interesting -- definitely has an arm for sure! Her approach jump seems funky how she opens up her legs to the side -- does this take away momentum or height? or not an issue I think lifting the legs - sideways or curled - helps to extend hang time or help control the body while in the air. Although I agree the way she does it looks a little funky. |

According to avid, Leoniak will be called up to participate in U20 competition again. We'll see if De Goede gets called up too.

Just to clarify for some. De Goede, even tho making it to the long list U20, was not selected for the U20 preparation tournaments in the first place. Opposites who made the pre-selection and did the practice tournaments were Dambrink (18 yo), Van de Vosse (19 yo) and Van der Pijl (18 yo). Where only Dambrink and Van de Vosse were selected for the actual tournament. It is noticeable that Van Der Pijl was listed as OP when she is a true OH and took De Goede her spot at the preparation tournaments. It is not likely De Goede will be called up imo
