It seems, that USA basically has pooched it, again. The HPCs were cancelled because USA has held 0 tryouts, 0 camps, and is so late in the process, that there would have been HPCs with NO USA teams!! Ironically, in only 2 short days, the regions have already planned on holding a replacement event on the same date. 9 regions and looks like at over 30 teams have committed already. Tell your region to contact Florida for details. Nice job USA. Wonder if Great Lakes will send a team - doubt it.

I have not seen any scouts, other than D2 and D3, at any tournament, nor at any Qualifiers this club season. So, how have they been evaluating players during their normal course of business when there has literally been No normal course of business? PSA recruiting contact videos? Enquiring minds want to know =) So you think d1 coaches have stopped scouting players just because they can't be at the venues? I do believe that the dead/ quiet period coupled with the overlap of club/ highschool/college seasons have greatly impacted scouting. This may be one of the affects that resulted in the cancelation. Recruiting obviously did not =)

This was on a fb post under the announcement by Erin virtue. She is responding to a question about the NTDP. I can’t get the link to copy but it’s on the USA volleyball fb page. “The NTDP will still be inviting athletes for our age-group National Teams, and for our Training Series programs. Due to the cancelation of indoor HPCs, we will hold a summer Training Series for invited athletes. Beach HPCs is still on and athletes will be invited to participate soon.” She then states that the invites would begin going out in a couple of weeks. And this is from the link to the official article: “ The cancelation of the 2021 event is due to low registration numbers from both region and international teams, all related to the COVID-19 pandemic”. Link: usavolleyball.org/story/2021-high-performance-championship-canceled/?fbclid=IwAR13v4FfRtVNMod0wtXAjaP0PPbxgAusEUEa2oMoocGxgVGUEf2zeDbcyPo

From the linked article "In place of the 2021 HP Championship, NTDP staff is planning a five-day summer training series, July 19-23 in Anaheim, Calif., to provide a high-quality development experience for selected athletes. Invitations to athletes and families will be delivered soon." Hmmm, interesting location choice. Could it be a hint as to who will make up the majority of the NTDP teams? Opening ceremonies in Tokyo are July 23. My guess is this slides into the WNTs facility when they leave for Japan.

IMPORTANT STATEMENT REGARDING USAV's DECISION TO CANCEL THE 2021 INDOOR HP CHAMPIONSHIPS: On 5/6/2021 the 40 regions of USAV were informed, without any prior warnings/notice, that USAV was canceling the 2021 Indoor HP Championships in Phoenix within 75 days of the scheduled event for financial reasons. On the same day of that announcement, the regions immediately began the process of finding a replacement location for the regional all-star delegations that had previously committed to participate in this annual event. On 5/7/21, USAV decided to make a public announcement without notifying the regions. This short-sighted decision has caused some confusion for regional all-star athletes and their families. The regions have a call scheduled for Monday, 5/10/21 to finalize their plans so that final arrangements can be made and communicated. There will be an all-star championships in 2021. The location will be announced as quickly as arrangements can be finalized by the host. We apologize for the manner in which this was handled by USAV National. Stay tuned for additional updates on this website as they become available.

I am not sure about PR, but as far as tact goes.... Many regions have already purchased flights. And, there is and every other week conference call with regions and USA, so why weren't the regions given a heads up then? Then, on top it, USA schedules THEIR training sessions right on top of when the HPCs would have been, saying to everyone, no one care's about the regions. Tact? (FYI, that wasn't from me or our website, but I darn sure do understand the frustration behind it!)

I just checked our region, Southern Cal, there isn't any info about HP at all.
