I find it funny that in the WHAC Lourdes and In Tech each have one player on the first team all conference list and Siena has 3 players.
Really curious as to how that happened considering they finished like 3rd/4th in the conference....

The WHAC loves Siena Heights...not sure how Lourdes didn’t get setter of the year honestly but Poveymirow or however you spell it is very good. Siena is a solid team but these selections do seem biased. Got some Siena homers amongst the coaches it seems. I haven’t looked at statistics so maybe those Siena players have better numbers by position...doesn’t really matter at the end of it. Indiana Tech and Lourdes are in the tournament and Siena is not.

Your suspicion about statistics was correct. Blades led the conference in hitting percentage, Crawford led the conference in assists per set, and Poveymirow led the conference in digs per set. As far as players receiving some type of conference award, the overall results look as one would expect, with Lourdes and Indiana Tech each having 4 players named.

First match of the tournament is a rematch between Campbellsville and Indiana Tech, and Indiana Tech upsets Campbellsville, again! Techs block was huge the whole match.
Indiana Tech silences anyone who didn’t think they should be there, and has a chance to clinch the semi-final berth if they beat Vanguard tomorrow. Really fun match to start the tournament!

So this crazy NAIA 😳 system with the pool #3 seed playing the #1 seed first and the #2 seed second - then quietly going home 🚌 while #1 and #2 settle the pool - is off to a rocky 🤯 start already. Of course, tomorrow we will see 👀 for sure. Love the upset - hope there is some more coming. 🤞

IT won that match with serve, block, and energy. Excited to see more matches like this the rest of the week! IT did prove a lot of people wrong in that match, myself included. Let’s see if they can keep the fire going against Vanguard tomorrow

If Indiana Tech wins over Vanguard, they win their pool at 2-0, go to the Semi’s and make the Campbellsville vs Vanguard match the NEXT DAY irrelevant (except maybe for final rankings). Oops! 😬 Did NAIA think that possibility would not happen? 😂
BTW, NAIA women’s championship in Sioux City has same format except winners of 8 pools of 3 feed to QF. 🤔 Those #3 seeds can really create some problems. 🙈🔧

BenU Mesa just finished off MoBap in 3. MoBap made a nice push in set 3, but couldn't extend the match. First two sets not close.

I hope this tournament expands next year and we see 16 teams, 4 pools of 4 with top 2 advancing out of each pool into an 8 team bracket!

They are a very good team and I think they could be in the same class as Grand View. Hopefully we see that matchup in the bracket

Georgetown is playing without the Mid South Setter of the Year right now, Dobrowolski, and their starting OPP is setting for them. Any idea what happened there?

That is a big blow, but I don’t think it altered the result any. Valiant effort from first-year Georgetown.

BenMesa looks really good - no arguments - it’s just going to be REALLY interesting to see them play Lourdes.

2nd day play about to start. At the end of Day 1, Grand View took care of business against St. Xavier. Only the 1 upset yesterday with Indiana Tech downing Campbellsville. The other three #1 seeds all won in 3.
