Predictions? I have BenU Mesa over Vanguard and Grand View over Park. In the final, BenU Mesa upsets Grand View to repeat as NAIA National Champion. I agree with this prediction. I heard a couple months ago from somebody who used to be close to the program and they said this is the best team Ben U has had, which I was surprised by cause the 2019 team was pretty legit. Ben U Mesa in 4 over Grandview in the title game. Yeah...I don't think this year's team is better than the 2019 team. Landon Fuller is certainly an improvement over any OH on the 2019 team, including Logan Adcock who was the tournament MVP in 2019. They still have Henige, but that 2019 team had Jaron Jones setting, Jesus Izaguirre at libero, and Devin Hill on the RS. All 3 of them were superior to who is in those positions this year. That's not a dig on Udall, DeGrasse, and Rogers; it's just a fact. That said, this year's team is certainly good enough. Now watch, after I say all that, Vanguard rises up and knocks them out. I guess that might just prove my point about this year's team vs. 2019. I wouldn't call a Vanguard win an upset despite the head to head record already this year. That Vanguard team is really good, too. Anema is great and all, but I think the key recruiting move was getting Bryce Thompson to transfer back home from Ottawa-Kansas. He had a great freshman year there and getting an established setter like that on a new team was huge.

If Pollnow continues to score double digit points and keeps hitting at a .350 clip or better, I’m not sure anyone beats them. Rogers had a bad game yesterday and they still swept Lourdes easily. I think they’re the most complete team in the tournament and should beat Vanguard. If they beat Vanguard and Grand View wins their semifinal, we’re gonna be in for a treat in the title game.

Guys I'm leaning more for Grandview I just can't see Felix rolling over, there a little rivalry between BenU and Grandview look at the history since BenU has been around
2018- BenU loses to Grandview in National Championship match after beating them in the 3 days earlier in national tournament pool play. 2019 -BenU beats Grandview in National Semi Finals 2020- Covid 2021 - Potentially BenU in the Championship match on an undefeated season in there hometown
I Just can't see him going out like that. Since Chapman got to Grandview have gone 89-9 the only team they have lost to more then once in that stretch is BenU
In my opinion this is the most talented Grandview team Chapman has been on, no major weakness unlike teams in the past couple of years.

These stats make me agree that there is a bit of a vendetta for Felix and BenU. If BenU can dominate in the middle like they have all season, it will be very tough for Grand View no matter what Chapman does. If GV’s middles can hang with Henige and Dawson, Grand View should win. Benedictine is the best serve receive team I’ve seen all season, and middles effectiveness comes down to serve receive for most teams barring an amazing setter. Udall and Arredondo are good, but you don’t see them running many middle sets on non perfect passes. Serve receive will be a big factor in all circumstances. If Ben middles can camp on Chapman he will have a long night.

Sure we all know and agree that passing well makes it easier for offenses regardless of where your most talented swings are, but Raffy Polanco takes a ton of burden of chapman, just having another go to option on the pin makes team lean less his way on below average passes that the setter can't go middle on but has either pin or a bik for. Chapman is hitting .400 on the season which is insanity! and .387 in the tounrey, but Polanco isnt far behind at .329. (.324 in the tournament so far)
The third pin moreno .256 on the season is solid and with the defense focused elsewhere he is a capable scorer ( .272 in the tourney on 11 swing in fairness to the data)
To me its not if they make Chapman day long or tough, every team in the countries tries and the key there is tries to do that. Its can BENU spread the ball around so much that GV can't stop them either.

hows danny wong been doing for grand view? Doing really well for Grand View this year. Obviously Felix Chapman is the guy, but Wong is one of the best MB in the country, in my opinion. He just doesn't get set super often. Second in the country in hitting percentage (.567), and just went 10-0-11 in their last match.

That BenU Vanguard matchup earlier in the season was some of the best overall volleyball I saw this season. Their second match went 23-21 in the fifth set.
Park/Grand View was also super tight in the conference championship game, with Grand View winning 26-24 in both the third and fourth set.
So while we are all thinking BenU/Grand View is going to be the final, it could surprise us all and have a Vanguard/Park final. Not likely, but these teams aren't that far off from each other. At the end of the day, I am just excited for some good volleyball.

Benedictine back in the final...grandview vs park next BenU are playing really well, and they were in control nearly the whole match against Vanguard. It’s going to be a great final regardless of who they play. Big ups to Vanguard on a great season. No one graduates from their team, so they will be good again next season.

I gotta say, watching this from ncaa.com, I like their announcers. 1st announcers in recent memory that talk strategy and what they think setters should do, vs announcers treating everyone watching haven't watched a game in their lives or just flat out don't know the game.

Chapman and Polanco both with huge games, hitting over .475 with double digit points, 25+ in Chapman’s case. Should be a great match and I’m excited to see if Chapman and GV can get their revenge on BenU...
