Not someone I would draft in a Fantasy League. 🤣 JK - in all seriousness, I would ask the other admins, but my opinion is a pin hitter (OH/OPP) solely. At her current school, she never set. For players that are picked up after the start of the season, you pick them up as the position they are playing. Before the season, its hard to create a single rule that fits all players. Overwhelmingly, most players play their roster position. There are other unique scenarios. We don’t want to encourage people actively trying to use Gabby Blossom as a libero (yes, it happened). why did they try and use her as a libero? They didn't. It was drama from last year. The 2019 fantasy league rules dictated that the position a player ended the 2018 season playing would be the position they fill on your fantasy roster in 2019. Blossom was a DS at the end of 2018, but was obviously going to be setting in 2019. The participant attempted to draft Blossom as a DS/L knowing that she'd be playing setter. The administrators ruled against that move and the participant quit.

The administrators ruled against that move and the participant quit. The key part is "knowing that she'd be playing setter". I looked back at Blossom's 2018 stats: she had 7 digs in her last 21 sets played of 2018. Hard to consider that "libero". Plus, I don't think it's ever been defined because it usually doesn't matter, but I don't know what a DS even is in Fantasy Standards. They can of course end up in front row situations when teams run out of subs, but they can regularly attack out of the back (of course, rare). Given that they could end up logging front row stats, that'd lead me to classify them as an OH.

Welcome!  No, not unless the NCAA pulls the plug or the league cannot be finished for whatever reason. The Fall league guarantees are set up for the 2021 Admins + Top 3 finishers + vbjustice. That already covers vup, but if you or duncaroo want to admin in the Fall, I'm sure nobody will hold any objection to that and you could lock down a spot now. I'd do that, but solo this time. offended

This sure becomes a lot harder when you realize the Big 12, Big East, SEC, and ACC have essentially no spring schedule..

This sure becomes a lot harder when you realize the Big 12, SEC, and ACC have essentially no spring schedule.. The SEC is playing 8/11 weeks with the last week designated a make-up week. The biggest issue is there is No week 1 play from the SEC, but that's still a decent conference to choose players from. The ACC is (rumored) to play the last 5 weeks. But, Miami-FL is scheduled to play UCF in non-conference, so we know the ACC will at least ALLOW non-conference matches, but it's unsure how many matches. As far as I know, the Big Sky, MAC, PAC-12, and BIG-10 are all scheduled to play the first 10 weeks of the season. The PAC and B1G will play all 11. The Big Sky, and MAC teams are not guaranteed to make their conference tournaments, so it could depend on how good the teams are you draft players from in those smaller conferences. Tarleton State (WAC) is playing 10 of the 10 first weeks, but, I don't know about the other WAC teams. Missouri Valley and WCC will play 9 weeks as well, with some MVC teams playing 10-11, depending on who schedules OOC and who goes to the MVC Tournament. The Mountain West is also scheduled to play 8-9 weeks.

That helps a lot, thanks! So just Big East and Big 12 that we don't know anything about? Kind of. The AAC hasn't released a schedule, but its teams have popped up on other teams' schedules. (UCF, Wichita State, Tulane, Houston, Memphis) I was thinking of releasing a conference "guide" for Fantasy Players, but it's honestly a crapshoot and things are even still changing with schedules, and wouldn't want to mislead anyone. If I had to put them in tiers, I think this is what I would do: 1. MAC, PAC-12, BIG-10, Big Sky 2. SEC, WCC, MVC, MWC, WAC 3. C-USA, AAC, BIG EAST 4. ACC 5. Big 12 But don't take that as gospel. The out of conference play really makes things unpredictable. Some teams from the AAC might not play any non-conference for example. I genuinely don't know. Some ACC teams could end up playing 8 weeks like the SEC. It's unpredictable. But, I think the first two tiers are by far the safest fantasy bets. The more you plan, the more COVID will probably end up cancelling your games anyway

It should do. They are struggling to support 2 sports right now and they're about to try and run 23 simultaneously.

Yea my first pick is from the pac 12 but now I’m thinking I should save her for later in the draft assuming she’s still available because of the uncertainty.

Well, I thought I was ready to go, but now that I'm looking at my top picks and whether they even have a schedule out or not... I feel like, with all of the uncertainty, the best way to go is to just take a chance on your favorite picks and hope the schedules come out soon lol
