2023 lineup shaping up? Haven't seen Izzy or Vernon committing elsewhere yet, but they entered the portal. Tkachenko not listed in 2023 roster. Maybe she decided not to continue VB for her senior year, or will enter the portal this spring. OH: Sheridan-GR/Suess-GR OPP: Light-Jr, or L. Williams-So MB: Swan-So, Unal-Jr, McDonald-Jr, all shared time last year. S: Corpe-Fr/Cochran-Fr L: White-JR. DS/serve sub Villaluz-Jr/Coba-Jr. Herron-So played some, but less than others. Alternate OHs: Nursena-So, Bourne-Jr Gotta wonder if a transfer setter is next to add, considering both setters on the roster will be freshmen. Word on the street in Oregon is that Maddie Corpe is no longer committed to OSU... seems the new coach had other plans. Oh, makes sense. Probably why they brought in a transfer setter. Hope Corpe finds a good fit elsewhere. |

Updated 2023 likely starting lineup:
OH: Mychael Vernon-Jr/Peyton Suess-GR (1 year of eligibility), Vivian Light-Jr (if injury has recovered)
OPP: Megan Sheridan-GR transfer; Amanda Burns-S/Opp-Jr Transfer. Could be in this spot or at Setter, or both in a modified lineup.
MB: Kinley Swan-So, DiLara Unal-Jr, Aliyah McDonald-Jr, all shared time last year.
S: Ava Pitchford-GR transfer (2 years eligibility left)/Elizabeth Schuster-SR transfer. Hard to say who will get the starting spot, and if a 5-1 or 6-2
L: Ryan White-JR. DS/serving sub Emma Villaluz-Jr/Iris Coba-Jr. Keira Herron-So played some, but less than others.
Other options: OHs: Nursena Ballioglu-So (also came in as DS last year), Emily Bourne-Jr
Setter: Cochran-Fr (assuming she is still committed to OSU)
Middle: RS-FR Liepa Lavickyte
Transferred-Tkachenko to Clemson, Izzy S to Kansas State, Laura Williams-?
With many transfers not arriving till summer, it is going to be a challenge to get the chemistry and connections going, but very doable as well. Will be interesting to see so many new moving pieces.

23-25. White libero. Vernon, Villaluz OH. Bourne Opp. Lavickyte, Swan MB. Schuster setter. Coba DS/Vernon.
Present not dressed: Light, McDonald. Not present: Nursena
30-28. White libero. Vernon, Villaluz OH. Bourne Opp. Unal, Lavickyte MB. Schuster setter. Kerron serve for Unal.
25-21. White libero. Vernon, Villaluz OH. Bourne Opp. Unal, Lavickyte MB. Schuster setter. Coba DS for Vernon at times.
Transfer setter, Schuster, was very good with placement, and went on serving runs. Bourne was very effective in Opp, and Villaluz surprised at OH. Despite OHs being undersized, their placement and use of the block was effective. Beavs also dug alot of balls until they converted.
Looking forward to their other transfers coming in and making more of a difference.

Villaluz was an OH in high school and conference player of the year for multiple years. She is also a pretty skilled setter. A real asset to any team. Hope she is having fun this spring season! |
