So glad Pacific won't be a game we need to play in the future. It makes sense you're glad, since Pacific won the last match. That was pretty unlikely to be replicated, as that was Pacific's only win in the series since they rejoined the WCC in 2013. Anyway, there is another thread about this cancellation, so I think it would be better to talk about that topic over there and keep this one focused on matches BYU is actually playing. |

yah- It does kinda affect my life. Sorry.. But, my relative is the young man who was "accused," and pointed out by the Duke player with ZERO evidence after a thorough investigation.So, yah... this type of deal does rub me the wrong way. You have no idea what he has gone through. But, oh well. You go ahead and think things are over with teams cancelling because of events that, according to real evidence, never happened. Bye

Claire Little's high school team pulled off a reverse sweep in their first-round matchup of the California state playoffs. Little had 32 kills.

Oh my gosh!! Seriously.. there are bigger things than people jumping on bandwagons with no evidence or investigation findings. Is that the world we live in now? People decide things based upon what someone "May" have heard? Yes.. it is just a game... but people cancelling games because of what others say may have happened??? I would be the first to agree with cancelling a little league game, for that matter, if there was real proof. Give me a break!!! The players are entitled to their feelings of what “may” happen. If it’s a possibility, I would avoid it too. I highly doubt they’re making it up and turning it into a national scandal. It’s happened at a soccer game there too. They don’t want it to potentially happen to them, they’re entitled to cancel the game. That’s it. It’s over. "If it’s a possibility, I would avoid it too." Okay go ahead and avoid any match at any university in the US then. In fact avoid going out while you are at it. Because unfortunately, there is a systemic racism issue in America that bleeds into every county line. Pacific and the players ARE entitled to forfeit. The reason people are upset though is because of the way they went about it. No communication, no effort to make progress or talk about alternatives. I can understand that it is their right to forfeit while simultaneously offering an opinion on their decision and the way they handled it. To say that we should just all shut up and move on is literally attacking the most fundamental right given to everyone which is freedom of speech. |

Bye Yes, completely innocent kid. He ran down to the court after the match and confronted the Duke team COMPLETELY INNOCENTLY. LOL. That BYU internal investigation (aka, sweeping under the rug) emboldens you to go out and demand apologies, but really . . . |

bbg95 and vvv. The vista Murrietta vs. Bishop Alemany match last night was one of the best matches I have seen this year. You won't find a better illustration of momentum. Vista Murrieta started strong, but then Alemany just took over. I mean took over. at one point in set 2 Alemany was winning 19-3. #2 for Alemany is fun to watch--Wijay, a top 50 2024 Prepvolleyball recruit. At times it felt like a duel between Little and Wijay and for much of the match Wijay was winning. Vista Murrietta survived 2 match points and finally eked out the third set win, and then started righting the ship. By the time they got to set 5, it was total reversal with VM up 14-3 I think at one point before closing it out. total momentum shift in a way I don't recall seeing quite that dramatically. vvv. I love recruiting. I watch more than my share of matches on NFHS, where you can see many of BYU's recruits in action. I got to see Blaykli Bobick for the first time last night, have watched several of Brielle Kemavor's matches, and see all of Claire Little's matches that I can. I was thinking of posting an update on state tournaments in a week or two if anyone is interested.

As a BYU fan I’m disappointed of course. I understand the school is also cash poor so definitely a cost savings. I appreciate the comment about making a statement this year without making it weird in future years (BYU to Big12). And, they probably get to avoid a whooping so yeah, a win/win/win for UOP! But here is where they earned my support …. I checked their instagram posts and one of them included many teammates wearing black T-Shirts inscribed with Black Lives Matter. So … It’s important to them. It’s their choice so whether we agree or not, it doesn’t matter. America the Beautiful.
