Pretty good. The Pitt, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati and Utah State games were all pretty much known already, though still exciting. Utah and UVU were expected, since BYU plays both schools pretty much every season. Washington State is a nice surprise, and Duke and Rider aren't bad (Rider is actually the kind of team that's good to schedule, since they should probably have a good win/loss record for RPI purposes). Way better than last season's schedule.

Also, I heard a rumor that Carolynn Bower and Reed Carlson are related? Anyone know if this is true? I have no idea if they are related, but they coach very differently. Bower is totally focused on winning, chemistry and playing the top players on the roster. Carlson appears to love to win but has more emphasis on playing his whole 12 (or more) player roster in every match. He is prefers to run a 6-2 and Bower runs only 5-1's. They might be related, but not in volleyball tactics.

Here's Heather Gneiting's appearance on BYUSN this morning.
She talked about the nonconference schedule, getting back in volleyball form after her mission, playing for the US collegiate national team and more.

Interesting fact about Carolynn Bower from a close friend and former teammate that coaches in college and says he is a fan. She pushes all of her club kids (not just her daughters) to graduate a semester early--also, she consistently runs a 5-1 (which doesn't happen sometimes in the club world for financial reasons). He also said that the new director of her club, Crush, is JJ Riley (the former University of Utah assistant). We surmised if this means more Idaho kids will end up at University of Utah. Apparently she has a 15 year team that has a big time setter--and, get this, is NOT named Bower!

I can pretty much guarantee that if Carolynn Bower is coaching a Crush team it is because she has a daughter on it! I think the team you are talking about has a L who is a Bower. No idea about what kind of player she is.

This schedule is a 7 out of 10 IMO. Much better than last year's, but I would have liked to see Rider, Duke, or UVU replaced with teams who get into the NCAA tourney on a pretty regular basis and finish top 2 in their league most years. A Kentucky, Florida, UCLA, Univ Wash, or teams like Rice, UCF, or E. Kentucky. I don't know if BYU could get Texas to play them or Wisc but if they could, it would be a 10 schedule.

Do you have any clue how difficult scheduling is? No this person definitely doesn’t 😂 they don’t seem to know how difficult anything is when it comes to coaching, recruiting, etc. I actually hope they become a college coach, it would be cool to see a perfect coach! 😊

Do you have any clue how difficult scheduling is? Also, I don't even know if BYU would want to add three more really good teams to the schedule. BYU should be good next year, but I don't think they're a top five team or anything like that, so I think they want a challenging but not extremely difficult schedule. What they did looks about right.

Thank you for that, I really did laugh at loud for about 10 seconds.
