The whole "Not because of Covid" thing is weird. There were hardly ever forfeitures before Covid. Injuries - play deep into your bench. Coaching drama/issues -place him/her on suspension or fire them and make do with an assistant until a new coach is hired.

Hah - shenanigans. It's a lot tougher to claim you are the Big 10 champs with so many missed matches. A forfeit makes a difference. If Ohio state doesn't make it into the tournament, that'll be a tragedy.

If/When there is a story worth telling, someone will tell it. History does not prove your point. The stories are usually buried for years or never told at all. I'm not suggesting that anything similar is going on at NW, but how long was it before the MSU or USC scandals were exposed? Decades. There's still never been an official account of what led to the coaches' firings at ASU. Often, a desire to avoid litigation leads to silence. |
