Lipscomb's record is 17-2. Also, senior outside hitter Megan Kuper may be good, but I don't think she's so good that both teams are going to start her in the same match.

Georgia Tech is making their 10th tournament appearance and first since 2009, and are 34-28 (.548) in sets played. The Yellow Jackets made the Elite Eight in 2003, losing 3-1 at Hawaii and the Sweet Sixteen in 2004.
Lipscomb is making their 8th tournament appearance and have gone 2-21 (.087) in sets played. They won sets against Ohio St in 2010 and Texas A&M in 2011.

This seems to be basically the same GT team that took the NIVC Champ title last year, over a good SD team who also is in this year's D1 tourni. I am sure Lipscomb is deserving praise, but I don't think they have enough to defeat GT.

I am sure Lipscomb is deserving praise, but I don't think they have enough to defeat GT. GT are only in the tournament because they swept Florida St without their best player last fall. They've been bad this spring. You never know

GT would play better if they just stop trying to convert Matti McKissock to Outside Hitter. She's really much better at her normal position, which is Setter.

I chatted with GT radio voice Kurt Hoyt, and Lipscomb VB student radio broadcaster Spencer Boehme about this match (that I think will be one of a few 5-setters on Wednesday!)

"The Bisons put Megan Kuper, Samantha Rubal and Delaney Dilfer on the All-South Region team, Meg Mersman was named an honorable mention and Dilfer brought home the All-South Region Freshman of the Year honor for just the second time in program history."
" Georgia Tech volleyball’s Julia Bergmann, Mariana Brambilla, and Matti McKissock each garnered AVCA All-Region honors for the East Coast region, the AVCA announced on Tuesday. Bergmann and Brambilla were both selected to the AVCA East Coast All-Region Team, while McKissock was tabbed an AVCA East Coast All-Region Honorable Mention."

So according to this poll, Lipscomb win would be an upset. 4 minutes to poll lock.
