I recently talked with someone close to the program. They don’t expect Holzman to play this year. They have given her examples of a couple of top players over the years who had two ACL’s and still had great careers. I said this earlier. I hope she doesn't get discouraged and at least plays a year or two for the ILLINI.

I think its Holzman that is shown digging a serve on a video on the volleyball twitter page twitter.com/IlliniVBall. Fourth post down the page. Wrapped right leg.

I can remember back when Jordyn arrived in Champaign to begin her freshman season at Illinois. Then coach Kevin Hambly remarked that Jordyn had aspirations to some day play for the U.S. National Women's Volleyball Team. I am certain that other young volleyball players have those same aspirations but so few ever achieve them. Jordyn Poulter did. In fact, she far exceeded just becoming a member of the U.S. National Team. She is now the first setter in history to set the U.S. National Women's team to a gold medal at the Olympic games. /photo/1 And she was named the best setter of the Olympics, going down in history with setters she probably admired growing up! I wish her great health and success, as I look forward to her being our starting setter for the next decade. I hope Bastianelli and Quade also get a shot at joining Jordyn and MBH on the national team!

This kind of olympic publicity is exactly what we need for our brand. Especially when it comes to recruiting, we are losing out strong Chicago talent to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Literally a 3rd of our starting lineup on the Gold Medal team is an Illini. We need to be running with this in an attempt to win over some of the best in-state talent.

For the first time in my memory there are as many Illinois residents on the Illini roster as on the Wisconsin roster. Also we now have more Illinois residents than Kansas residents. On the one hand I don’t really care where our players come from…. On the other hand Illinois is such a rich volleyball recruiting area it would be nice to have the pick of Illinois players.

Looks like they are using Mosher as an OH in some of the clips. That's exciting I honestly think she could be a terminal OH for us as well

Is Brown returning next year? I recall someone had speculated that she will graduate and move on. If so, we “May” need a backup setter.

This is a video of a vball match from 3/5/21 between Florida State University and Duke. The match includes current Illini Jessica Nunge. For those that do not wish to go through the entire match I have some hilites listed below. Nunge played on the right side although she took swings from the middle and left side. I think Nunge’s natural position would be left side. It was mentioned that FSU was short on players (2:42) and that may have affected where players played. Nunge is the player with a pink headband. Appears to have some good skills. What I was impressed by is that she looks to have good back row skills for a young front row player. She has a basketball background and moves her feet well. Appears to have benefited from the experience of having to guard someone. MBH played basketball as well. Will be interesting to see where she fits into the mix.
6:00, 15:35, 20:00, 34:20 Serving
8:00, 9:40, 17:40, 38:40, 1:03:35 Serve Receive
11:50, 30:30 Middle attack
12:20, 46:45, 50:05 Right side attack
20:30, 59:30 Back row attack
31:34 Kills overpass
47:55 Left side attack
