Yes, Dodson should continue to play in the middle. Gneiting should redshirt. I think so too. I am not even sure Heather will be back in shape to play anyway. She's got the physical abilities. Struggles against a strong physical block. Hits a hard ball, but I don't think has developed an adequate array of shots just yet. She fell apart mentally a bit in the state championship match against a very good Hamilton High School (they have the number 2 recruit Jordan Middleton who is going to be a superstar at USC) and got repeatedly blocked in set 5. her passing was actually pretty good, so that is an area she good certainly help with. I am not sure she is quite ready in the hitting department yet, but I certainly think she'd be quicker and better than a Dayton on the backline.

You can stay up until the 1am ET start for Hawaii-UCI men's rematch tonight. It was exciting yesterday. An OH got to play in the front-row for 6 straight rotations after a rotation error, and a 2-12 Irvine squad almost handed undefeated #1 Hawaii it's first lost of the season. Ooh that is tempting, but then that’s only 12 hours from the start of tomorrow’s matches. I need some time to think about what this match says about UCLA, and the Pac-12. My heart. I think it says the pac 12 was overrated and also byu completely fell apart this game. Also wisconsin is amazing. it is obvious this year that the Big 10 is the best conference. This coming from an ASU alumni and a BYU fan.

I'm still more interested in developing another outside. I just don't and never have seen enough killer instinct from her.. She is not terminal enough for OH 1. I am ready to let some of our top recruits have a crack at it. Well, Stowell is coming in this year's recruiting class. Having depth isn't a bad thing. I'm sure Olmstead will figure out what to do. For whatever flaws Ballard-Nixon has, she was still a million times better than Madi Robinson was in 2019. BYU still had a good season, and Ballard-Nixon was a key part of it. I don't know. I would prefer to focus on the positives rather than get that upset that the team was unsurprisingly not good enough to beat Wisconsin. oh i never expected them to win. I just thought she kind of keeled over. the whole team did at times and that's understandable. Wisconsin is very good, but I just expected more fiery play from the senior. maybe it is just the fact that she isn't actually a senior. I don't know.

In past years, the badgers might have gotten freaked out by the intensity and the blocking from the other side of the net. This year, they just figure it out. They know that Hilley will find somebody to fill the breach. This time it was a freshman and a 5th year senior. That's their strength.
They were also never off the front foot. They were always aggressive from the service line, to match the aggression of BYU. I have worried about the badgers' ability to manage a serving onslaught, I'm less worried now.

When Wisconsin gets dialed in, they're a level above anyone. Anyone includes BYU, as demonstrated tonight. Robinson is going to be an absolute beast for the next 3 (or 4?) years. As a Freshmen in the BIG Ten Devyn Robinson had the following hitting percentages by match: 750 467 389 167 300 500 654 556 500 214 333 364 318 636 500

BYU has a top notch setter coming in next year. 6'2" Zayna Meyer -- I think she'll come in and make the program that much better. She's a mixture of Carlini and Hilley -- very good blocker!
She's currently finishing her last season of club, setter on Sports Performance 18 elite team.
Touches 10'2

Everything posted by anyone is somehow threatening to you or insulting to Wisconsin. Just enjoy how great their team is and how great their players are. Not sure why you feel compelled to defend a team and players that everyone thinks is terrific. It’s like their not being given the respect they deserve. This guy loves his team and excited about an incoming setter who he believes has some qualities of Hilley and Carlini. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn’t, but he’s not suggesting this kid is as good, or bad mouthing a Hilley or Carlini and you dog walk her likes she’s chopped liver.

Okay, I got interrupted early in set 2 by an emergency and didn’t get to circle back to watch the rest until much later. My thoughts: BYU had a clear game plan, to shut down Rettke, and they executed it well. What they didn’t plan on was Barnes & the defenders not letting anything hit the floor. Badgers kept BYU out of system all night with tough serving and extended rallies, frustrating BYU hitters into making errors trying to avoid our defense. Rettke didn’t let offensive frustration stop her from blocking well - she led the team in blocks. Loberg’s serving has become a real difference-maker. Haggerty is stepping up in big moments and mixing up her shot selection in very smart ways. And let me say again, HOT DAMN, BARNES!
