Genuine question that just hit me, I was thinking about who the best opposites in the world are (Egonu, Boskovic, Haak etc). Who would y'all rank as the best outsides? Obviously, Zhu Ting is number one but from then on I'm pretty conflicted because you have to take ball control into account too. Interested to hear y'all's thoughts. (not ranking) Ball Control: KRob, C Bosetti, Gabi, Busa, Courtney, Larson, Hill Point Scoring: Mihajlovic, Gray, Zhu, (dare I put SWP here yet?) All Around: KYK, Natalia, Vasileva, Begic, MBH that's off the top of my head. im probably forgetting or overrating someone (or put someone into the wrong category lol) who else? (or who to take off lol) Busa at ball control and Vasileva at all-around are #choices...but I agree with the rest. Bricio is another good all-around OH that comes to mind, and Kosheleva is still pretty terminal. I wish we could find an OH that can pass and terminate at a high level and not trade one off nowadays...I miss 25-year-old KYK lol.

The way zhu attack the ball is just amazing. Her technique is unique. Not sure why we can't use that technique? zhu is 6'6 and extremely athletic.

Busa is a large reason to why the Serbian system works (the sputter to the 2021 season shouldn't cloud your judgement lol) Vasileva was just one who came to my mind, i didnt know who else.

Obviously, Zhu can just go over everyone and can hit crazy angles, but you very rarely see her go high flat off of the top because she doesn't need too since she's swinging down onto the block. For OHs who aren't as physically talented (everyone else lol) they need a proper approach/arm swing to be able to hit all the shots. I'm no physio, so these are just my thoughts lol. Could be wrong.

Just watchin this video. Pipe attack from the best players. Tandaras arm swing is actually scary to me - Signed someone who plays men’s college ball. She would fit right in. Also I could watch Boskovic all day long. A queen

The Japanese call her technique the "one jump" attack. I don't really know when her technique changed. In 2013 and 14 (first 2 years in national team) she had a more conventional jump. Lang Ping was probably experimenting and trying to find the best technique to suit her physique. After a while, they hit upon this style as the best match for Zhu. So it probably developed tailor-made for Zhu and not some across-the-board style that all Chinese NT players can adopt. Of course, its possible other NT players may adopt this style in the future, if Lang Ping find this attack fruitful for other players as well.

Of course, I'm sure it took a lot of training in the gym to master that. It looks natural on court, but behind that attack is a lot of sweat and tears for Zhu to perform that seamlessly.
