i noticed the fans were not happy too, all thought they could medal at home, even on World Cup (i didn't expect it haha). Japan didn't beat Brazil and didn't face Russia but still made it to the Final 6 in WCH. i wonder if they could win over the Russians that time. everyone else gets taller and taller (or at least, more physical) and they pick shorter and shorter players (Ishikawa at 171 (5'7 since this is an American forum) as an OH... really? just stick with Koga and Ishii FFS) Ishikawa practically dismantled the USA during the world cup. Washington just couldn't close the block fast enough IIFC.

I'm too excited to sleep. I'm like a kid on christmas eve.
Edit: I also drank some cold brew around 4pm today like a noob. Pffft. #wired

(Ishikawa's sister)

I *might* stay up for Netherlands Belgium and then wake up for the USA match...lol
It's definitely more manageable for West Coast people.

Ishikawa practically dismantled the USA during the world cup. Washington just couldn't close the block fast enough IIFC. I didn't watch it but checked the stats. God how did she get 23 points when Koga got less 😂 That match revealed a LOT of the USA's weaknesses in defense (as Japan does to most teams). The teams utter collapse in the 4th set towards the end was VERY irritating. Hill subbed in and hit that ball off the antenna and I literally bellowed at the TV. The team having to go 5 sets and then turn around the next morning and play China was, IMO, one of the reasons why we got spanked by them. Granted, China also went 5 vs. Brazil the day before. However, they did get 2-3 hours more rest than the USA did. I also think Karch erred by starting Poulter and not Carlini. Alas....the tournament really didn't have any real implications.

She's so fast and have a good game play with Kurogo (both played for Toray).
