Italy has announced their 17 players roster: S: Bosio, Battistoni, Morello. OPP: Nwakalor, Mingardi. OH: D'Odorico, Melli, Guerra, Piva, Omoruy. MB: Mazzaro, Bonifacio, Lubian, Squarcini, Furlan. L: Fersino, De Bortoli. Since Italy is sending a C team I don't expect them to make the finals. It'll probably be USA, Brazil, Turkey, and maybe China (still waiting for their roster).

Carlini's first touch to get something hittable off of that pass with Lowe nearly running a route through her. Can Lowe and Drews hit well on the left? This rotation 1 with the opposites running all over the court can be messy at times, IMO. Drews seems to do OK. Lowe hasn't historically been very efficient, part of the reason we started doing the "run around the court" / "hit 2s in the middle" patterns in Row 1 is because both Lowe and Murphy really struggled to put the ball down (or at least, not make errors) from Zone 4.

She actually did well. Reason i don't understand why they need to run from left to right? 😂 They can hide from net or ffom zone 1 to save energy

My first two impressions: 1. Hancock jump served 2. Plummer playing OH[/div]

Plummer has been training exclusively as an OH in the USWNT gym this spring. She has gotten a lot of passing reps, as she was in early. Can she play OPP, yes. That is not where they have been training her though. They do run a slower ball to her intentionally outside.

I need to find a tea source to keep up with y'all I swear.

Hancock's serve is a great training tool. And Plummer realistically has to be an OH cause they don't have another in the gym right now (I think)

Hancock can cause so much havoc with her serve. She could be such an asset in Tokyo, though bringing a third setter (no way she’s better than carlini and poulter) can cause roster makeup issues.

I also think having trained there basically all of her college/pro career, Plummer’s range of shots as an OH are a bit more diverse and refined than they would be at OPP.
