Really hoping this isn't going to be the Courtney show and JWO rides the bench like last time... This too is my fear. I want to see both of them given chances vs the top teams. The majority of this battle should be happening behind closed doors in the practice gym. Yes, sometimes athletes massively under- or over-perform at practice, but I think those are the minority of cases. As fans, we want the battle to play out in televised matches, but that isn't really how this works.

I mix those two up so much. Busa had a good season though this year right? At least better than normal Busa looked good until Robinson returned to the team following the end of the CVL season. Then, her confidence seemed to have taken a dip. What's interesting is that Mihajlović was struggling even more than Busa which does not bode well for Serbia moving forward. Serbia needs to strive to maintain their level from 2018 in order for them to perform as expected at Tokyo. well Boskovic looks more unstoppable than ever so hopefully she can shoulder some more offense to make up for Brancika. She’ll also have much better setting now

There is plenty of opportunity to experiment, especially when a position isn’t so solidified. I don’t doubt USA has good competitive practices you can draw data from though either.

Veljković had the baby. Stevanović retired from the NT. Rasić had an off match vs. Imoco in the CL finals. Underestimating her connection with Ognjenović would be a huge mistake. I mix those two up so much. I can see how you got those two mixed up with their names being similar, but their style of play are different which made it easier for me to remember who's who. Jovana Stevanovic (likes to run the slide) Stefana Veljkovic (big jumper and attacks in front of the setter)

11 more days ‘til 1st game for USA. Who are your starter predictions? OH: Larson, Plummer OPP: Drews SET: Carlini MB: Akinradewo, Ogbogu LIB: JWO Based on the 18 player roster I think this is the strongest team that can be fielded: S: Carlini OPP: Drews OH: Robinson, MBH MB: Akinradewo, Ogbogu L: JWO This is honestly very tough to determine for me. The entire roster doesn't really have any glaring weaknesses which is a really awesome position to be in IMO. This looks like a good roster to me, but I think Larson will start just because she is captain.

OH: Larson, Plummer OPP: Drews SET: Carlini MB: Akinradewo, Ogbogu LIB: JWO Plummer plays alongside the best two passers... which means more Courtney over JWO, imo. Courtney is an incredible passer, terrible defender. JWO is more balanced.
