She's the lefty who was their starter at the Olympics and has been the starter for the whole quad...she also wrecked us at the World Cup (although to be fair everyone on China was firing that day *shudders*) Is she the one that replaced Wei a lot? Wei was always overrated to me. Yes, at Rio 2016. Wei had a busted knee then so maybe not the best look. Wei was best setter at the 2010 WCh.
After 2017 onwards Ding was the main setter and sometimes Yao Di played.

Turkeys odds may have shifted a bit. Zehra has a muscle tear on her foot and rumored to miss entire VNL. She's still listed on the roster, but Yasemin Guveli (MB) was added and Yildrim (OH) was cut.
They still have Akman who despite being older and more experienced has dropped behind Gunes.

He'll get a better look at who to take for the third middle. (assuming Zehra is fine for Tokyo)

Zehra's their best MB and arguably their most consistent player in the IOQTs. Turkey needs her.

That's true! I feel like Eda will also get to sit out some matches and rest allowing all three of them Kubra, Asli, and Guveli more chances.

Agreed that Eda is the difference maker for all of Turkey. She's a beast in so many ways.

That's a pretty big blow for Turkey's VNL hopes. But Asli in particular is pretty capable of filling Zehra's role as the M2 in front of the setter. They'll miss her blocking though.

don't even get me started.. now this was a setter. Wow, I really miss the double-slide from China's opposites. Does Gong run that play, or anyone on China's YNT? I don't recall China running it since London

I don't recall China running it since London Lang Ping was trying to bring it back when she moved Zheng Yixin their shorter, but quick sliding middle there. It wasn't as successful as she hoped.
