He’s repeatedly said she was 100 % healthy from day 1? I haven’t heard him say that, if you could direct me to where he did. I do know One of his very first press conferences he said outright that she was not in a position physically to compete with Hames and said specifically she was not 100% participant day one. When Hames herself was injured they could only play Orr partially because cook said directly that they had to manage her physically. Yet according to you she was 100% healthy from day one. I have no idea what Orr’s status is currently, I am certain she has not always this season from day one been physically ina position to take over full time setting duties, Cook said as much. I’m not making up what he said, he said it. As someone who follows pretty closely, I have not heard Cook refer to Orr as 100% healthy let alone repeatedly, if he has, I’ll stand corrected. Anyway, I love Hames and defend her against the ridiculous bashing’s she gets on here. Having said, she hasn’t been great this year, and even Cook has said when they were struggling her play wasn’t good enough. You are someone who listens but doesn’t hear. . . I suggest going back to one of his Monday pressers or one of the post match pressers-he was asked directly about Orr. . . And this time, “listen”. Seemingly, you are attempting reinvent listening. . . Most lazy people think they listen but don’t really hear much, but you, you listen and fail to hear, but you cover up you laziness, by making up the words you failed to hear. . . Nice. He said Orr was 100% and totally healthy at least 3 times in the past 3 weeks.. . This time listen and hear. . . life is easier if you do…promise. . . so we’ll see how it goes. I mean, I doubt he would have burned the opportunity to red-shirt Orr, if she wasn't healthy. AKA-there is still the option to play her this year, if she is the right person for the job, but people who know more than we do think that Nicklin is the right person for the job right now.

How John Cook Built the Huskers Into a National Powerhouse What he’s done is nothing short of incredible but he didn’t build them into a national powerhouse. he says in the first minute he took over a program that was consistently going to final fours, which makes them a national powerhouse. I 100% believe he improved upon what Pettit built, but Pettit built it. How about Pettit Created and Cook Grew.

And yet Cook has repeatedly said that Orr is 100% healthy. Which part of the many times he has said this escapes your ability to understand his words? ❓❓ She is and has been a 100% participant in practice since the first week of practice. Please stop making up what he says. Hames is playing because she is the best setter Nebraska has. Hames is also playing because she is meeting the performance level Cook and Hildebrand are looking for…if she wasn’t she would not be playing. . . At this point the Hames discussion is amusing. . . 🏐 He’s repeatedly said she was 100 % healthy from day 1? I haven’t heard him say that, if you could direct me to where he did. I do know One of his very first press conferences on hail varsity he said outright that she was not quite there yet physically to compete with Hames and said specifically she was not 100% participant day one and the needed to monitor her. You accused me of making things up he said, I didn’t, he said it and referenced when he did. When Hames herself was injured they could only play Orr partially because cook said directly that they had to manage her physically. Yet according to you she was 100% healthy from day one. I have no idea what Orr’s status is currently, And regardless they wouldn’t make a setting change now. As someone who follows pretty closely, I have not heard Cook refer to Orr as 100% healthy from day 1 let alone repeatedly, if he has, you can point out where and I’ll stand corrected. Anyway, I love Hames and defend her against the ridiculous bashing’s she gets on here. Having said, she hasn’t been great this year, and even Cook has said when they were struggling her play wasn’t good enough. Just an FYI for you ( because Photo doesn't want to hear it). Orr was also battling tendinitis in one of her knees. At some point THIS season she was not 100%.

Coach is great on radio shows. He explains rules, gives insights about the game, and lets us know about the players and how he feels things are going.

Well as I said, I’m unaware with her CURRENT health status, but she was in fact not 100% early as Cook said in his Hail Varsity interview during pre season in which anyone can watch and hear in his own words, and as you said I was aware she was struggle with some nagging leg issues after that. I have zero problem with Photo or anyone else’s opinion, but obviously don’t appreciate being accused of speaking for Cook when he said it in his own words and I gave the specifics of where anyone can go and hear that for themselves. Oh well, I like where this team is at and headed.

He said she could do some amazing things but lacked a little consistency, which is normal for a Freshman.

Oh well, I like where this team is at and headed. It’s not my opinion, and again, for at least the 4th time tonight on his SportsNightly hour Cook said Orr had no health problems and was working with the A side, but that because of the way Nicklin is playing it was going to be difficult to get any playing time in the matches. He continued further by saying Orr’s problem was inconsistency. Orr isn’t even the one (2 or 3 times a match)who is part of double sub and Evans comes in to serve and set for half a rotation. Orr will most likely end up being a great Nebraska setter, but if Nicklin stays healthy it’s not gonna be this year. At the beginning of fall practice Cook said the only thing they were doing (100% out of precaution) about Orr’s knee was limiting her jumps during the first week of double practices because her ACL surgery had occurred only 11 months ago. And they would monitor her day to day recovery on the joint. After the first week she was given medical clearance to take part in any and all activities. This is why during the first weekend when Hames did not play, she was the setter in the 5-1 against K-State after sharing the 6-2 setting duties with Evans in the first match against Colgate. Unfortunately, Orr’s inconsistent sets culminated in the fourth set when she was replaced by Evans with Nebraska trailing 12-6. Of course Evans led the rally and Nebraska won the set and the match. Kennedi Orr is 100% healthy and I wish people would not make things up and say she isn’t. I’m frankly thrilled she isn’t playing because it means Cook and Tyler approve of Hames play and because I do think a full year should pass to before her surgically repaired ACL is put to the rigors of a B1G volleyball season. She’ll play when our 2-time first team all-B1G setter graduates. No team in a B1G conference plays an entire match (as Nebraska did against Michigan) with only 4 hitting errors unless the setter is very good. Check out how many B1G teams have played a match this year with less than 10 hitting errors (hint: zero, none) Nicklin Hames is a very good setter and the oddities who are on this board saying she is not have self-abuse issues. We’ll see how it goes from here. 🏐

I don't think one human being ever has returned to 100%, post-ACL tear.

I don't think one human being ever has returned to 100%, post-ACL tear. Tom Brady 2008. Harmotto tore hers early in her collegiate career. I think I get your overall point, but athletes can and do recover to 100% although not in all cases.

We as fans need to understand that Cook has no obligation to communicate player injury status to us due to this thing called HIPA. He shares more than some do.

Whatever the plan for Kennedi was and is, I have not seen any sign that she has not bought into it. She has been in and around practice since beginning of second semester last year. If she felt she should be starting, she has had plenty of time to start moping and complaining, but all I see is a happy person on the sidelines and on her IG. Reality- She has a long way to go to be the defensive player or server that Nicklin is. How many points per game is that worth? IMO, when Orr hits the court, it will be the right time and she will be very ready.
