On the 2021 Freshman class, there was originally talk about this class getting an extra year of eligibility. Is that true?
If so does a red shirt year then add a 6th year?

You know what, Madi Kubik is the best 6-rotation outside in the B1G.
There, I said it.

Yes, everyone gets an extra year of Eligiblity: www.ncsasports.org/coronavirus-sports/ncaa-eligibility-coronavirusSpeculation was that it lead to the Rollins transfer at Minnesota because she would be guaranteed a scholie this year but not next year when Minn was over committed. Cook seems to be somewhat flexible with only 2 commits in 2022 (including the current #1 recruit in the class, Madi's sister) But assuming everyone stays, things will be weird positionally for awhile.

I feel that adding one year on eligibility after this disjointed season was the right thing to do, but to do it without raising the scholarship limit for the next four years will do harm to the kids that are in high school right now and will for the next four or five years.

Agree. Although if they had increased cholarship limits, some schools would not have the $$. Suspect future transfers will be up for next few years, due to both the desire for playing time and desire to play for better team. Complicated situations for many student athletes to navigate. Covid sucks.
