Not Husker related--but for those of you who coach on the Club/HS scene in Nebraska--how does Sabrina Starks end up at Pittsburgh and not at Creighton or any B1G school? (We could have arguably used her as well but I think we were loaded at MB during her season) That's kind of crazy that a local D1 prospect ends up at an ACC school.

Not a coach, but I think there are at least two reasons she didn't end up at Nebraska. #1) The scholarship limits don't allow the Huskers to take anywhere close to the number of D-1 prospects coming out of Nebraska each year; and, #2) Comments by the TV announcers during the Pittsburgh tournament matches I watched seemed to indicate she was a project-type player coming out of high school. It sounded like she made huge strides in her development from the 2019 season to the Spring 2021 season.

Props to Pitt for developing her into a good full-time volleyball player.

Starks only jumps out because Pitt was a high profile tourney participant. NE prep players are starting for good D1 programs all around the country and doing well, but you just don't hear about them.

For Creighton, it was probably just a limited numbers of spots. Sparks is a junior right now. That would've been 2 years of Ballenger, 3 or 4 with Hickman (Creighton's top recruit her year), Reinhardt (Freshman, #40something in her class), + Welty and Schmitt.

You can’t get every good player that is from around your state lol. Idk why that’s hard to understand. Plus Starks is fantastic but she isn’t like Stivrins good.

Premier went 3-0 this morning. No dropped sets, no issues.
They stuck with the recurring theme of putting Krause at bro in the first set and making her a back row DS in the second. She's pretty nimble back there, and they gave her plenty of court.
Of course, it was interesting at times. Krause instinctively ran a pipe approach a couple times and had to remember what jersey she was wearing. Phyona set her once out of the back row when Krause was the bro, and it was a look of, "what am I supposed to do with this?"

Lauenstein had left her VCN team last month, but she’s on the roster that’s been entered in AES. So, stand by. That VCN team is in National and not Open, so they don’t play until 3:00.

For a state with a sub-2 million population we put a LOT of kids in D1 ball. I reffed C1 tournaments where several girls were going on to play D1 ball. Jaela Zimmerman being among the most fun to watch. She was a woman among girls in some of those matches. Just throw something in the air & watch her crush.

Mya Larson is going to kill it at Montana State. I wish she would've accepted the walk-on offer at Nebraska.
