As a non-Nebraska fan, I can't think of one player I've enjoyed watching (even when she was beating my teams) more than Lauren Stivrins. Her growth from year to year was so motivating. Truly one of the highest flying slide hitters with an amazing attitude and who you could tell loved her team. I'm grateful you were able to come back for one more season, Lauren. Unquestionably one of the best reasons to tune into a Nebraska match. Thanks for the classy post. I've always enjoyed watching Otec play...will miss her next year.

I thought about this last night. What it must be like playing for Nebraska and to feel the pressure of winning ( because that is the culture) but to also feel the intense adoration of Husker fans who are so incredibly well versed on the game and their players. It has to be special, intimidating, and stifling at times. Stivrins, when she shared that she hadn't had a social life in 6 years? These player really do sacrifice a great deal for the prestige and adoration of playing Husker Volleyball.

Unquestionably one of the best reasons to tune into a Nebraska match. I couldn’t agree more. I’ve liked Nebraska from the Jordan Larson days but Lauren Stivrins made me love Nebraska and get more into following and reading about the program since 2018. Growing up in Hawaii, from a young age I was treated to some of the best slide attackers in the country live with middles such as Angelica Ljungqvist, Lauren Duggins, Victoria Prince and Amber Kaufman. But when I saw the Stivrins slide, I instantly fell in love. When I started to follow Nebraska as a whole, I fell in love even deeper. Stivrins represents Nebraska Volleyball perfectly to me: skill, class and poise and hard work. I also enjoyed watching her blossom into the leader, especially in the 2018 final. I can’t believe her career is over as well as Lexi Sun. These two women represented Nebraska SO WELL during their careers and were multi time all Americans to boot. Lexi was one of the most talked about recruits ever and for good measure. When she transferred to Nebraska I was SO HAPPY. To see her thrive and improve was the icing on the cake. I’ll admit, I was sad to see that she had lost her spot but realized that not only was she a star player with undeniable star power, but that she was an even better teammate. Thank you, Lauren and Lexi for sharing your careers with us and God bless.

So it's a healthy thing to not have a social life in 6 years?
Am I missing something here?

Did I say it was healthy or a sacrifice?

Wisconsin Coach Kelly Sheffield on Nebraska: Knuckles serves were outstanding and Akana's serving is one of the best in the nation. On Caffey: If the floor had been tile, they would have had to replace some tiles during the match. He also talked about the many ongoing in game adjustments the two coaching staffs did. - Interview by Volleyballmag.com
