I spoke with a team contact of mine today. They’re pretty sure Batenhorst’s left wrist is broken but she won’t get an x-ray until after the finals tomorrow. She’s just going to get it taped up and play. She’s a true warrior! I noticed her effectiveness in the match went down after she was injured. I would get a pain injection if I was her. Assuming it as a compression fracture in the left wrist, my experience with those is they hurt more after 24 hours. Also they don't do anything except put a wrist brace on for the first 24-48 hrs. If she truly has a fracture, I doubt she plays. It's her left hand, so theoretically it might not effect her hitting, but blocking would undoubtedly be impacted. Not sure it “impacts” as in she’d be unable to block, it would be more of an issue of Can she play with the pain. |

how did she get hurt?? I was only able to catch bits and pieces of the match and didn’t know she got hurt Tripped on a teammate and hurt her wrist. I thot it was bad when it happened! She’s tough! It Happened during play. She fell backwards and put her hands out behind her as she was landing on her butt. Definitely harder landing toward her left side. It was pretty clear she was in a lot of pain. Hope she is doing okay! |

IM DYINGGGG. When she said Texas looks like they hate each other 😭😂😂 And some smack for the NCAA on bracket construction. Observing they tend to stack things so as to have a bracket that will make it more likely to set up a Cinderella story. "One bracket is a cakewalk, and another is the friggin Hunger Games." Pretty funny. |

To clarify, I hope Batenhorst did not fracture her wrist and that she can play in the Final. I suspect she does not have a wrist fracture, but jammed her wrist. If she can't play, I suspect Sun will start with Lauenstein possibly getting playing time as well. My previous post although not out of the realm of possibilities was made in jest. NE has tremendous depth at the pins this year. And that looks to continue going forward. |
