I would put this recruiting class somewhere between decent and solid. Thanh is adding some critical height to both MH and OH positions. From what I know of this group, I would say Goerger will be ready to plug and play right away. Look for her to move into the starting line-up as a freshman. Wild (OH) and Kopp (DS) also are solid. The team should pick up a few more conference wins next season and then make a move to the middle of the pack in 2023.

If Keya Luta Win Hunt stays healthy, she can also provide some great offense. She has an uncanny knack for putting the ball where people aren't on second ball.

I didn't look at the current roster but do you think Kopp will DS or be a Setter? She was a Setter during High School and will probably be one for Club this season.

Emma Goerger was solid for Wayzata, and adds much needed height to the team. Excited for her!

Anyone know what time the St. Thomas spring match is on Saturday ? Just wondering if it'd align with the Gophers (who play at 2pm south of there) - i.e., if St. Thomas plays in Mankato in the evening it might work to catch both. I still see TBD listed for time.

Good learning experience for St. Thomas tonight. They played probably the toughest team they'll play all year. Inconsistency was not their friend, but they will be better come fall. They had no answer for Booth, but they have a big 1st year middle coming in the fall who will help them out. I am eager to see what they will look like 5-7 years from now.

Quick question for Tommies fans (and Tommy-adjacent fans): When do you see the school getting some better television coverage, and from what local broadcaster? Whoever it will be will have to have a presence in the large MSP metro market. All of the Dakota schools are getting excellent local sports coverage from the cable broadcaster Midco Sports Network or MSN. The quality of the sports coverage and game commentators is really good, as compared to other Summit teams. Denver has a separate contract with "Altitude TV" that provides a subscription-based broadcast. I've never watched it personally, so I can't comment on quality. But any game broadcasting service is better than what UST has now. I think its interesting that Midco cable is in basically all of Minnesota outside of the metro. That's how it works, I suppose. Breaking into a competitive TV market is tough. Here are all the MN towns Midco has service to (click on the Minnesota bar at the bottom): www.midco.com/about/service-areas/I'm sure they will probably have a separate service, similar to Denver, sooner or later. It would be an important method for the expansion of the fan base, I'd guess.

Tommies beat host Montana St. opening weekend in 5 set thriller. Montana St. was #153 in RPI last year and 15-14 record. Looks like they played San Fran close in some sets too. Can we recycle / reuse this thread for 2022 ? (can title be adjusted) ?

Tommies win set 1 vs Central Mich. in extra points 28-26. They were up 14-11, gave up a bunch of points in a row to get down by a few, then crawled back late, then back and forth in the 20's. Central Michigan had RPI last year similar to Iowa (for w/e that info is worth, maybe not much
