The heart wanted what it wanted. All streaks end at some point, but this one lives on despite my so clearly wrong predictions. The fighting Illini will get the job done in Austin. Third time Lucky! Oh manifesting it is fine haha god knows I do the same with Texas. I just thought the "never underestimate NE imploding" comment strange in the context of the tournament. It was more so the context of this specific season. Although, it’s been fun to watch them get better and find ways to win while shuffling things around. I’d rather someone else do the job and not have to meet them in the regional final, tbh.

This was a pretty strange take re: Nebraska since they haven’t been eliminated prior to the Regional final in a decade The heart wanted what it wanted. Third time Lucky! you guys have had the upper hand in recent contests. this year's Nebraska especially has proven capable of losing to decent teams. yet, you sound scared at every turn. what are your concerns given you guys compare well against anybody in the country in terms of athleticism?

The huskers.com wrap after the FSU match noted "The Huskers' 37 trips to ans NCAA regional are the most in NCAA history," but this season has certainly shown the potential for imploding.
The rematch against the Illini should be interesting. Nebraska has swept them in both meetings this year, but I expect this match to be closer.

Not scared, but cautious- they’ve also proven capable of winning games I didn’t think they would. If Texas gets past Washington, neither Nebraska nor Illinois will be easy. I just happen to be a bigger of fan of Illinois, so I hope they win the round of 16.

So if my math is right, in the first round of the tournament, the B1G had 8 of 64 teams = 12.5%
In the second round, it was 7 of 32 = 21.875%.
For the sweet sixteen, it was 6 of 16 = 37.5%
For the elite eight, it will be 4 of 8 = 50%.
That’s a pretty good trend! B1G and ACC will each have a minimum of 1 in the final four, with Louisville facing Georgia Tech and Wisconsin facing Minnesota. B1G could also get Purdue and Nebraska/Illinois in to get the percentage up to 75%. Impressive!

Both Purdue and Minnesota were on the ropes on Thursday hoping to reach the Elite 8.
Purdue was down 10-14 in the 5th set. Minnesota was down 2-6 in the 5th set.
I believe it is a tribute to the B1G that the conference schedule is a crucible that forges battle-tested teams that have the kind of five set experience wherein the student athletes know that they have each other's backs in crunch time and believe that they can prevail under the most trying of circumstances.
I am proud to live in a B1G town, and get to root in person for a LOT of exciting high level volleyball that is not always played by my Gophers.
I have watched some amazing performances: J. Moore, J. Orzol, H. Bush, NEB's Caffrey, the Hord-Holland middle, Londot down the line, NW's TTA and steady doses of Samedy, Miyabe, Wenaas, CC McGraw just flat out outperforming. I'm sure you all have your favorites: 1:02'43" is mine
a Miyabe dive to bring up a Stanford tip, the Wenaas bump set to the only spot on the court anyone could attack ..and Samedy

Please give me Wisconsin vs Nebraska.. Would be a great match, personally I want DBK vs Cook for the ring. If it’s Nebraska vs Wisconsin I have Nebraska. Louisville vs Nebraska is a classic in the making but I think I still have Nebraska

If this play doesn't put Lexi Rodriguez in contention for Freshman of the year I don't know what will.

I love Orzol, but I think Rodriguez should have been DPOY and and FOY in the league (and I love Barnes, and Murr is so darned good), with neither caring since they are still playing!
