Kentucky just won the NCAA championship with 5'10" Tealer playing middle. I'm just saying that if Luper doesn't get playing time because of who is ahead of her, Sealy should consider her at MB because she would probably be better than of most of them, except Alupei. This is way over simplifying it. Tealer was there to diversify the offense. She got some solid touches on the block, but she wasn’t an elite blocker... not even close. It worked for Kentucky, but they had lilley to better any ball and fling it to either pin or the middle who could score. I don’t think it works for everyone else. Kentucky won because they had enough offensive power to keep up. Texas still hit over .300, most of UW’s hitting errors were balls out or in the net, not blocks (tealer had 2 blocks in 4 sets). Just saying “well Tealer was a MB” really doesn’t tell the whole story. My point was that Luper is a similar player to Tealer in height and ability. If Luper doesn't start next season, it would be nice to see if UCLA could use her in the same way Tealer was used at Kentucky. I'm NOT saying that Tealer was the reason Kentucky won, but that the role that she played this season at Kentucky could be similar to a role Luper could play given the struggles UCLA had at that position.

I love Ndiaye, but she will have to improve her out of system attack and success rate with the non perfect sets. Ndiaye did not play 6 Rots at TAV her entire career there so that would be a big leap. Does Sealy have the patience to let her develop that skill set? History shows no. Her last season at TAV she was clearly the best attacker in the nation at that time when it mattered the most. She was unstoppable with good coaching and patience she will be a force... all I’m saying is she has the potential. Agree 100%=dominant...but never served or saw the back row that I saw. Asking her to do so for the first time in the PAC...gonna take some patience and work from Sealy. Potential is huge!!!

Also clearly you guys have not done ur research on her. She can jump very high and she is very accurate with her shot selection. TAV the club that she came from r always good at training their girls for the future of their career.

I like Luper, but I’m not sure about this. I mean I love the concept and really dig the way Skinner created that position. But not sure if Luper would be ready to take on that type of role year 1. Year 2 probably so.

If there is no transfer setter, I'm hoping to see a 5-1 with Chang. MB, as you have all said, is going to be the biggest question mark.
OH: May, McCall Opp: Ndiaye S: Chang MB: Dodson, Alupei L: Fleck
It's sad to Jacobs, Barry, and Hadrych on the bench, but I really think it would help the offense immensely to run a 5-1.

This is the starting lineup I would like to see, based off the suspected roster.
OH : Mac May , Élan McCall OPP : Iman Ndiaye, Allison Jacobs S : Kate Lane MB : Francesca Alupei, Anna Dodson L : Zoe Fleck
I was going to put Devon Chang as the setter, but does anybody know if she is still injured? I heard it was a bad injury and to be fair I do see Kate Lane having potential. As for the opposite position, I put Iman Ndiaye in the front hitting until they get her as a full rotation opposite. Taking her place in the back row is Allison Jacobs. I feel like Allison will be able to provide a solid amount of defense and will still be able to provide offense from the back row.
I feel like regardless tho Sealy may still continue the 6-2 just due to the amount of talent he has on his roster. Also he may want to have these younger players get experience throughout the year.

Luper reminds me more of Wallace-Ford than Angie Pressey. A contributor, not a star.

Lane as the sole setter for UCLA? Ummm...that is definitely a choice.
