^Hater. Martin will #Rocket UCLA to a top-3 PAC finish and keep Sealy off the hot seat. I knew you would be the first one to post - you always disagree with me about setters. But we will see. What part of what I posted isn’t true? Did you watch all of the games this year? I've never seen you post about setters but if all your posts are as bad as this one, then trojansc should disagree with you. And yes, I watched a lot of K-State this year.

What part of what I posted isn’t true? Did you watch all of the games this year? Me? I don't even remember responding to you ever? What setter did I disagree with you with, or did you have another account? I did not watch every K State match this year. I watched some of them, mostly in the fall. I think Martin is a fine setter. I don't think her stats this past season at K State are too much to read into. I watched many many matches of her throughout her time at East Carolina. I disagree with your downplaying her offensive capability.. she has consistently been able to put the ball away on 2. I think her blocking numbers being down are in part due to the fact that Kansas State was not a great blocking team as it is. She can certainly at least hold her own in a 5-1. I don't think she will be exploited to the point that it's an extreme liability and a 6-2 must happen. I like her potential to run a good offense at UCLA. I think she has excellent hands and you are severely discrediting her with the fast-tempo on a good pass, as if that's the only ball she can set well. Please.. I just don't think this past season at K State, especially statistically, is a great measuring stick to make too many judgments from. We'll see.

Any information on the possible veteran setter transfer to UCLA? Sorry not trying to sound critical but Can people stop with this bs? If you're going to post a long paragraph about how unimpressive a player is to you, own it. Enough with the "sorry i don't mean to be negative" nonsense

You beat me to it by a couple seconds! But, glad to hear I'm not alone in disagreeing with that assessment. It's certainly true that I may overhype AAC players with a *little* hyperbole and potential exaggeration, but I really do believe Martin is an excellent setter, and I don't think I'm wrong on this one.

I like Martin. I think she's a great get for UCLA and I was really impressed by her in the few K-State matches I watched in the fall.

The big thing here is that the addition of Martin allows Sealy to focus on which setters he’d consider taking in the portal next year.

I think it would be smart for Sealy to develop a 6-2 for this season. I don't usually like the ideas of 6-2's, but ultimately with Devin Chang possibly having that leadership position and Martin bringing in a fresh set of hands.. it could be really good for UCLA.

I'm getting that the poster is a K State homer. A different K State homer disagreed with this poster who said that setting was the issue of 2019 Kansas State. I was in agreeance with that notion and the other poster, that setting wasn't their issue. Kudos to them for that memory, I certainly didn't remember. Makes a little more sense now though, could be a little salty about the transfer and reason to be overly critical, to a point of inaccuracy.

Martin doesn't need to be an All-American setter. Just having a solid one makes UCLA incredibly dangerous.

in the entire 2010a decade, only four teams made it to the final four running a 6-2, all of which losing in the semis.

Setter issues at UCLA is truly interesting.
Miller was #11 recruit in 2016, but never really established a successful 5-1 offense. (then led Minnesota to a final 4 appearance) Chang #39 recruit in 2018, ran 6-2 with Thompson in 2019, and started with 6-2 with Lane this past season until the second match against WSU.
Were they running 6-2 because Sealy prefers 6-2 system? or Does he have no confidence in his setters to run a 5-1 offense?
