Katie Clark who played at TCU & earned All-Big 12 honors is now going to be joining the Nittany Lions in the fall. Based on the clips I saw of her playing, I would say she is a great addition to the Penn State program. I haven't seen much of her so I don't have an opinion, but how on earth did she get all conference hitting .224 as a middle?

She hit .667 with 9 kills in her last match against Texas, and maybe there is a little known Big 12 rule that you get All Big-12 honors if you hit .667 against Texas. (p.s. if it isn't a rule, it should be ) Here's a link to the list of All-Big 12 honorees for 2021: big12sports.com/documents/2021/4/8//2020_21_All_Big_12_Volleyball_Awards.pdfAnd here's a link to our write-up on Katie on DigNittanyVolleyball.com: dignittanyvolleyball.com/penn-state-volleyball-adds-katie-clark-via-transfer/

The question I would ask is why are players leaving Penn State? Gray was an excellent recruit, but chose to leave her Senior year. Penn also had a good outside recruit (sorry the name escapes me) that de-committed.

I know they will have their pick of the litter when the time comes but IMHO there is one candidate that makes sense. Someone that has an absolutle pulse on the recruiting climate is young, energentic , can give the program the shot in the arm it needs to take it to the next level alomst instantly. I am sure PSU would potentially look for someone with more HC experience, but I would agressively go after JR from Neb.

Is Steve Aird a candidate for the Penn State job in the near future? I really hope not! 🤪

Really : so why leaving Minnesota? Nebraska? Kentucky? Illinois? 1 year left for Grey: succession plan ! LOL

Penn State might be better served with someone mentored by Russ Rose or possibly an up and coming head coach like Jen Oldenberg or Dani Busboom Kelly.

Would'nt a Rose/Cook mentorship kinda be at the same thing at this stage? I like the way you are thinking with your suggestions as well. Agree Reyes maybe a little green as a HC but so was JFO and that seemed to work out pretty well for OSU.

John left the head coaching job with Wisconsin to work as an assistant under Terry Pettit for one year before getting the head coaching job at Nebraska. The Penn State position will likely be so sought after that something like that might be available.
