Gonzaga still up 19-17 over San Diego

BYU leads Portland 18-12. Portland has called TO after Hifo gets an ace.

Pepperdine swept Pacific (25-15, 25-19, 25-20)

BYU up 21-12. Portland calls 2nd TO. Jayde Harris has been a solid hitter for Portland. Too bad she's a passing liability as well.

Yikes, Lukes sends a blooper long. Gonzaga 23-18

Lukes comes back strong on the next play with a nice line shot. 23-19

BYU wins it on a Hifo ace. 25-12. BYU wins 3-0

LMU up 19-16 over Saint Mary's. LMU hitting .360 to Saint Mary's .240 in this set.

San Diego & Gonzaga tied at 8.

Interesting call in the USD/Gonzaga match against Juliette Russell in the middle. I think they called her for palming it. Gave San Diego the point and a 12-10 lead, followed by a Lukes kill, so San Diego up 13-10. Gonzaga TO.

Second Set:

Saint Mary's had set point after coming back to take the lead over LMU. Now 24s.

Saint Mary's wins set two, 25-23, on a Hawley Harrer kill. SMC leads LMU 2-0

Gonzaga ties it at 15 after the TO, but USD now leads 17-15 after Zoe Thiros back-row attack lands in the net.

Rally. Frohling RS cross-court kill. USD 19-18

Kamake'eaina attacks the 2nd ball when the pass goes nearly to the antenna. USD caught a bit off guard with that choice, almost gets it up, but its down for a kill from the setter. 19s.

Frohling LS kill popped up but close to the antenna & Gonzaga hits it into the antenna. 20-19

Lukes hits high hands. Gets a touch. USD 21-19.

Gonzaga TO

Lukes with her 25th kill. USD 22-19

Zags rebound block Lukes, then soft block her and USD blocker called for net on Portland's attack. USD 22-21

San Diego TO

Frohling dug. Easy blooper attack from Portland. Lukes hard line shot kill. USD 23-21

Croft LS kill tooling the block. USD 23-22

Lukes blocked but lands out of bounds on USD side. USD 24-22. Match point.

Frohling RS hard, deep push shot down the line is ricochets off the defender's arms into no man's land. USD 25-22.

San Diego wins the match, 3-1

Lukes with 27 kills continues to be the driving force for San Diego. She is so reliable when they need a kill.

I'm convinced the San Diego/Gonzaga match went 4 so Katie Lukes could set a new career high in kills! 27 kills hitting 0.361. Not too shabby!

If LMU doesn't make a move soon, they are going to be swept at home by Saint Mary's. They are down 14-18 in the third set. This is so disappointing to see what has happened with this team.

Well, Gonzaga is in the market for a new coach, so we'll see if anything changes.
