I do actually feel bad for Dixon because she was a lock for Rio before the injury, IMO… but it just isn’t her time anymore regardless of how hard she’s tried. She’s not the same level she was and others are simply better today…It’s not just sports, it’s the pinnacle of sports. The best of the best make it from here on out. Karch has shown he'll take experience over critical needs of the team. Perhaps he learned his lesson as a result of his utter failure in Rio, in part, because of Thompson. Likely not.

And Tori has had knee after knee issue herself. Middle life. Tapp's stock continues to rise IMO. She's healthy (but also had a knee issue back in 2018) and playing really well it would seem at the moment. She's better, but I still do not believe she brings world class skills like others at middle. She is several levels below Adams when Adams was in her prime.

She was coming back from injury or was banged up pretty bad just like Dixon. Please don't let history repeat itself.

"Utter failure." Another example.

I just finished watching the replay and sharing here my thoughts. - Larson’s not as prolific as when she was younger(aka 2012 and before), but she continues to play smart and play excellent defense. It’s really like having 2 liberos in the back court. - JWO, oh wow did she impress me this game. I was actually pro-Courtney as Courtney honestly played better, IMO, during world cup. And JWO played okay during so-so matches of team USA. Unfortunately, Courtney was judged in her performance against China while JWO was praised for playing better in the second and third set? Going back, LOL, JWO’s performance this game was really awesome. I hope she sustains it. - Tapp was commendable in the last set. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel her the rest of the match. Sorry. - Dixon, I didn’t feel her presence that much as well. Hoping she can still prove herself - JT, I really see destinee hooker in her. She just needs to gain more fat/muscle and not be choosy with the sets she’s receiving. - Carlini, sorry, but her sets were all over the place in this match. Not really sure if it’s the reception, but I thought JWO really played well. So not sure what she was going through. Jitters perhaps? - Plummer, I’m an international fan, so I really didn’t get to watch NCAA matches. But based on youtube highlights, she was not that impressive to me, thus I didn’t get the hype. But man, did she perform well today. She was like thompson in 2018 VNL. I can se MBH in her with fair FD and mean arm swing. I just hope she develops her FD early on and jump higher like JT.
Kudos to the team for playing well

Kudos to the team for playing well I think the Hooker / JT comparison is valid in size and general athletic ability, but I don't foresee JT being as good as Hooker was in her prime, but not many players ever will. I mean, I'm not sure Plummer is going to make any significant gains to her vertical. She will never jump like JT. She's a SOLID 6'6. She needs to find her angles a bit more but that will come with experience.

Just read the trajectory of the posts about Tori. Disgusting. Here's someone who has dedicated a huge chunk of her life to Team USA, missed the last Olympics only because of an unfortunate injury, and people are treating her like she is garbage. Grow up. Happening a lot, everywhere, not just in volleyball. It is truly disgusting. Thank you, (R)uffda? for being aware to call it out. Meh, It's professional sports not club sports.

How dare anyone point out strengths and weaknesses in a way that's not personally disparaging. I mean, they're getting paid for their participation and they are representing us, our country. But no one can criticize or discuss players, especially Tori, AT ALL.

Because I’m pretty sure every time Tori’s name is mentioned, a slew of posters rush in to talk about how awful they think she is, with no pushback until now.

If you can't take it, get off a board meant for opinions. No one personally disparages her; they speak of her performance.

I can ‘handle it’ - You stated that nobody can discuss Tori “at all” as though every time she’s brought up someone is offended/hurt/crying/upset and I don’t think anyone usually ever gets upset over it? So I’m confused about the *especially Tori* part. Usually discussion about Tori OR Tori’s performance goes unchallenged and there’s quite an echo chamber so I was just confused about your comment.

Actually somebody did say that she didn't look fit (I think I'm phrasing it a little more PC than the poster). I can go back and find it if you don't believe me.

I DON'T CARE what one isolated person said. There have been many, including myself, talking about her in/ability to terminate consistently (and rarely on the slide) and her blocking numbers. Perhaps she is out of shape, but I have no clue. She has been sidelined with injury the past couple months and that may be an explanation but the single poster who mentioned that has no idea. Reality is, none of us has any idea expect what we ascertain from observation and statistics. I can say with certainty those statistics are not in her favor as compared to our other middles. With that, I suggest you take the bundled panties from inside your bum and situation them where they belong.
