UCLA tied the game on a single that went over the right fielder's glove off the wall. Going to the bottom of the seventh tied at 1-1.

ESPN's streaming is both good and bad. I like a lot of it, but I hate the way that when they shift a game between channels, they also shift the online stream. Why do they do that? Just let us keep watching the same stream please.

Ugh. UCLA ties it up 1-1. Fresno State with a chance to walk it off in Westwood in the bottom of the 7th.
NCAA's scoreboard is also failing right now, which sucks with so many games on.

I think obstruction is a necessary rule (a good example is the walkoff obstruction call in Game 3 of the 2013 World Series--the basically a textbook example of obstruction and absolutely the right call). That said, I agree that umpires don't always call it consistently or correctly, let alone both. That's true, and I agree with that. I do think there is a need for the rule, but I wish there was a way to make things more uniform and equally applied. Is obstruction a reviewable play in MLB ? I think I remember a specific Miami game where it was reviewed and the TV commentator lost his sh*t. I think it might depend on the nature of the obstruction. It looks like double plays and home plate collisions are reviewable.

Obstruction is, in principle, a simple call. The runner has a right to the base UNLESS the fielder already has the ball.
But in practice in the MLB, for a long time they allowed catchers to basically block the entire plate, encouraging runners to have to knock them over to get them out of the way. After some injuries to big-name players, they changed the rule to prohibit blocking the plate but also prohibit avoidable collisions at the plate. And yes, it is reviewable.
The tricky part is that the fielder has a right to make a play on the ball. So if the ball is coming to a spot between the runner and the base (or plate), it becomes something of a judgment whether the fielder is necessarily in position to catch the ball or whether the runner is blocking the base or plate intentionally.

UCLA and Fresno State are going to extra innings. I'm surprised Fresno St. haven't made a change yet. I love Dolcini and think she's great, but she's been taken to the fence and warning track over and over again these past few innings yet. UCLA runners on 2+3 with 1 out.

Sure enough, a line drive to right field puts UCLA up 3-1.

UCLA now up 4-1 after their left fielder misplays a deep fly ball.

ESPN Scoreboard www.espn.com/college-sports/scoreboardThe ESPN scoreboard is a bit behind (it still has UCLA and Fresno State tied at 1), but it's better than what the NCAA's is doing right now.

They are talking about it being chilly in Husky Softball Stadium, and I can confirm that in late May it could be 90+ degrees or you could be freezing your ass off -- neither is surprising.

Virginia Tech-UCLA could be a really exciting Super Regional. I'm hoping BYU still comes back, but it's just not looking likely. I just can't see UCLA losing twice tomorrow, and Fresno State who has 2 hits in 7 innings will score 4 this inning? Not happening.
The fact that the Super Regionals are 3 games over 3 days now also benefits Virginia Tech. UCLA has much better pitching depth.
