NCAA Softball Selection -- Does the committee love the B1G?

It seems like there's a lot more bunting in softball than baseball or at least MLB. I was very aggravated when BYU was having its best hitters in Zavodnik and Jensen laying down bunts instead of swinging away. Looking at their stats, Zavodnik had 15 sacrifice bunts this year, and Jensen had 13. I'm not saying none of those were the right decision, but that seems extremely high for batters who are so good when they're not giving up a free out to the defense. And I've seen this a lot from other teams in this tournament as well when they have good hitters laying down bunts.

Missouri has cut the lead to 3-2 after a solo shot in the fifth that just barely cleared the wall in left center.

Did they just say JMU's 3B is dual-enrolled? Or did she start in the summer session I guess? They mentioned her going between JMU, Athens, OH at Ohio U, and the postseason sites.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it higher. But I also wonder how many 'SAC' attempts are truly 'sacrifice' attempts. Jensen especially, but also Vadonik have speed and can easily beat out those bunts.

There's the insurance run that was about a foot away from being a three-run shot to really break the game open. JMU up 4-2.

Ouch for Missouri. They had Alexander out dead to rights at home, but the umpire called her safe. JMU up 5-2.

Wow. That would be overturned by replay. A huge break for JMU. I can almost see why the HP ump missed that call though because of his positioning. Might have been an illusion.

I didn't think it was even that close. I thought it was for sure out. But, it was really close, but definitely out. The replay showed why I think he potentially missed it. Live I was stunned.

Softball needs replay. Bad.

James Madison now up 6-2 after a long single off the wall in left field. Missouri really should have stuck with their starter. She wasn't getting lit up.
