Oklahoma now up 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth after a two-run double to right center. UCLA is making a pitching change.

Ball game. Garcia has had an excellent career. Her 3-run home run is all UCLA has tonight. Too bad her team didn't help her out offensively or defensively.

Oklahoma's offense is just way too good to be giving them extra outs the way UCLA has done in this game.

Holly Rowe just said nobody on Oklahoma's roster had heard of the movie Gladiator before. I feel really old right now.
Edit: I did appreciate Beth Mowins making an, "Are you not entertained?" reference when Oklahoma hit another homer just after this. They're up 9-2.

Oklahoma's day at the WCWS started over 12 hours ago when they took the field against Georgia. It's about over now. Less than 12 hours from now, they'll take the field against James Madison.
Odicci Alexander had the day off. Hopefully she brings it. She was not nearly as sharp against Oklahoma State as she was against Oklahoma.

Well, Oklahoma appears to be crushing UCLA now. 10-3 going into the bottom of the 7th.
I turned it on when it was 4-3, and I saw a player hit a home run into a "sod farm" area. The Mariners have one of those in Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park). It's a place where they can grow the grass just like on the field, and if they need to patch spots they can just cut the sod from there and patch it.
Anyway, the point is that some dude jumped in there to try to get the ball. I actually saw that happen in Safeco. I had gone to The Pen to get some food on my way into the park, then wandered out onto the area in deep center that is right next to the sod farm. A player hit the ball over the fence into the sod farm. A guy jumped over the railing, grabbed the ball, and climbed back over the railing. He was maybe 10 feet away from me. I watched as security immediate grabbed him and escorted him away for "entering the field of play". He was completely shocked that anyone would consider that "entering the field of play".
My guess is that they kicked him out and took the ball, but probably didn't apply the other more criminal penalties for running out onto the field, but I don't know for sure. All I know is that they took him away.

FSU coach is upset that this game was started right about midnight. I mean, the rules say they can play three games tomorrow if necessary. I don't think that's a much better scenario.

Not that I think JMU/Oklahoma are the two best teams in the country, but let's say they are. If they're paired up in the 1st match, the loser doesn't cross over and the same can matchup happen on Sunday, but this time the loser is forced to play again in the same day, unlike Super Regionals. Lame that this is actually happening. In a double crossover situation, Oklahoma/Oklahoma State winner (both lost to JMU) would be playing Alabama. FSU/UCLA winner would be playing James Madison.

Also, no PAC-12 for the *Final Four* on Semifinal Sunday. This only happened twice in history, but it happened in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016. It was 3 SEC, 1 Big Ten in 2015. In 2016, it was 2 SEC, 1 Big 12, 1 ACC.
This year, it will be 1 SEC, 1 CAA, and either 2 Big 12 or 1 Big 12 and 1 ACC.

I lost power here for a while. But thanks to my UPS, I was still able to play videogames. Anyway, some scoring seems to have happened before my cable box and TV managed to reset themselves.
Funny how in the old days, when the power came back on, the TV just worked again....

And then there were four. Semifinals are set:
#1 Oklahoma vs. James Madison #3 Alabama vs. #10 Florida State
OU, Bama, and FSU have all been National Champions since 2012.

Highlighted teams only need to win 1 of a possible two games. Someone I know close to the Bama program is telling me that they will pitch their #2 - Kilfoyl in the game 1 and save their ace (who was perfect on Friday night) for the if necessary game. Alabama will be the designated road team in game 1. No idea at JMU, but I would be shocked to see Odicci Alexander not on the mound in Game 1. They'll be the designated home team in G1, will be away if there is an if necessary game.
