Do fans get to keep the softballs hit into the stands at the CWS (foul balls, home runs, etc.)? I believe that in high school games and even the college games (in my area), they're supposed to be returned (to be re-used, in an effort to reduce costs for the schools). But I could see how they might be more lenient with souvenirs in the collegiate world series.

I don't know about others.

I think most schools do not let you keep softballs that are hit foul. I'm not sure if the same is true of HR softballs. I do know there is a tradition at the WCWS of giving the HR softball to the parents of the player that hit it.

Highlighted teams only need to win 1 of a possible two games. Someone I know close to the Bama program is telling me that they will pitch their #2 - Kilfoyl in the game 1 and save their ace (who was perfect on Friday night) for the if necessary game. Alabama will be the designated road team in game 1. No idea at JMU, but I would be shocked to see Odicci Alexander not on the mound in Game 1. They'll be the designated home team in G1, will be away if there is an if necessary game. Yeah, I would be shocked if Alexander doesn't get the start. The more interesting question is who Oklahoma starts. G Juarez was really impressive to come back and pitch most of the UCLA game after she had pitched all but two outs of the Georgia game. But could she pitch again today?

Juarez has been inconsistent, but she really delivered yesterday. I think it's ill-advised for Gasso to start May. I think she'll start Saile. We'll see.

Jennings leads off the game with a solo shot to dead center and sets the all-time freshman RBI mark with 91.

Oklahoma now up 2-0 in the second after a sacrifice fly that was set up by a wild pitch that put the runner on third base.

JMU now with 4 runners left on base, already. They had 2 on with their best hitter at the plate, but OU gets out of the jam. That was really huge for OU.
At least JMU had some hits and solid contact from the bottom of the order.

UGH. A ball goes under the fence and it may end up costing JMU a run. That should NOT happen at the WCWS.

James Madison strands two again, both in scoring position. Oklahoma escapes with its 2-0 lead intact.

Wow, JMU's center fielder barely missed making a spectacular diving catch on a sinking liner. Instead, it's an RBI triple and a 3-0 lead for Oklahoma.

That was baaaaaaaaaad Yes, they just showed on the broadcast that they're working on fixing it. The umpires also got the call right. Just a bad break for James Madison.

Time and time again, ESPN, and it's 'rules experts' have been routinely wrong on the information they are broadcasting. Embarrassing. At least this time they didn't frame it as 'breaking news' instead of 'my mistake'. Also, a spare pool noodle being placed under the fence in the middle of the WCWS Semifinals is just a terrible look.

If so, it's two bases on a ground rule double. Edit: Or are you saying that ESPN got the call wrong initially? I was in the other room, so I didn't see the play live.
