Also, you can follow the live results (they're currently in the second event, the high jump) here.

Formchart seems low on Bougaard. But I don't really follow hep past NCAA so maybe she hasn't developed as well. Just checked, and she's only one of 2 with the Oly standard so I like her chances. Would need 2 more girls to get the standard and that's not gonna happen in this heat.

Yeah, I noticed that when I checked the standings that Bougard and Williams are the only two heptathletes with the standard.

Hocker doesn't have it in the 1500 (too many sit and kick races...) and it's going to be a slow pace. But people seem to think there's some way he can qualify without it? I need to look into it.

If no one else gets the standard, do they just take the next-highest finisher, or can they pick whoever they want? I was never that clear on this point. I thought I had heard something about how Hocker might qualify through world ranking or something like that, but I'm not sure.

The women's 10K was rescheduled to this morning because of the excessive heat in Eugene, and Emily Sisson just ran a trials record of 31:03.83 that beat the previous mark by more than five seconds. Sisson was really impressive, as she led most of the way and dropped the rest of the field with around four laps to go. Karissa Schweizer finished in second place to make the team in both the 5K and the 10k. It was also nice to see Alicia Monson make the team in third place. I followed her a bit when she was at Wisconsin in college. She finished second behind Weini Kelati at cross country nationals in 2019. Speaking of which, I saw that Kelati faded about halfway through the race, but I didn't realize that she was actually a DNF. I wonder if she got hurt during the race. Apparently, Monson collapsed after the race and was taken to a hospital. She should be fine, but the conditions for that race were pretty brutal.

DeAnna Price is absolutely crushing this hammer throw.
She's broken her own American record 3x now

NBC is killing me as they continue to explain what hurdles are each day. I know there are some casual viewers, but come on.

Grant Holloway is ridiculous. He just ran the second-fastest time ever (12.81) in the semifinal. He might break the world record in the final.

After four events, day one of the heptathlon is complete. Williams and Bogard are in third and fourth place. Annie Kunz is in first with a 96-point lead.
