I've found that Jamaican fans (especially on Twitter) are extremely territorial when it comes to their sprinting prowess. Lol, I'm reading through the article, and I'm laughing that the writer was talking about how difficult it is to win from the outside lane...in a 100m dash.

It's probably worth mentioning that Sha'Carri's 21.61 was wind-aided (+2.6 m/s). Not counting her out at all, but still. yes, but still puts her 6th all time (all conditions). didn't think any of y'all were educated enough on track to mention that lol. Been following track longer than volleyball. I’m still bitter over Blanka VlaÅ¡ić never winning Olympic gold ðŸ˜

More factor of the runners vs the lane in a 100. Now in the 200 it can be both. The additional torque put on your hamstring in lane one can make it more difficult on top of being a generally slower runner at least in the finals.

Noah Lyles cruises to the 100/200 double. Last guy to do it was Bolt in 2015.

Just blew away the field. 21.41 for the second-fastest time ever. FloJo's record (21.34) actually could be in danger.

Yeah, it can definitely make a difference in any race with a curve. But in a 100, it doesn't really matter. You are right that the fastest runners are typically in the center lanes but not always, especially when people try to conserve energy by slowing up in the semis.

You have to try really hard to screw up a 4x400 stick pass. Yikes. OTOH, it’s really not a championship without a USA relay team kicking the baton around the yard.
