Streaming links are all updated in OP. Only the Russia matches aren't live.
NBC gave more TV info today. Indoor volleyball will be on NBCSN and streamed online. They're not *supposed* to be on CNBC/MSNBC/etc. They won't be on Peacock either.

I really would hate it if NBC cut in with something like the interview with Ryan Lochte over his misbehavior at Rio or some similiar crap like that. |

I see it going down like this:
Pool A
1. Serbia
2. Brazil
3. Dominicana
4. Japan
5. Korea
6. Kenya
Pool B
1. China
2. Italy
3. USA
4. Turkey
5. Russia
6. Argentina
From there, we have to see how the quarterfinal draws shape up.
USA would love to draw Dominicana but I think they can certainly beat Brazil if they find another gear or two above their level of play in the VNL final. I went back and rewatched the match and it was just ok. Not great, not terrible, just meh. That won't do in Tokyo. I think meh gets them 3rd place in the pool, but even vs. Dominicana, the team will need to step up in the quarterfinals.
Italy vs. Brazil would be really awesome to watch. I honestly think this match could be relatively close but Italy will have to serve tough to get Brazil OOS. If Macris can run the middles like she did in the VNL final, then ANY team will struggle with Brazil. I think Italy has the edge offensively but both teams are pretty evenly matched defensively IMO.
USA might be wanting to be in the same Semi-final as Serbia instead of China. I say this having not seen Serbia's level of play yet. Same with Italy but in this scenario, Italy and USA would not cross again until the final if both made it that far.
I'm honestly hoping for a SRB-USA and ITA-CHN semi final pairing.
This really should be an exciting tournament. Cannot wait!

Dang. Honestly I was not that impressed with Kurogo. I guess Nagaoka just wasn't up to it. I still don't see this team making it to the medal rounds. |
