I'm not convinced that Serbia with Boskovic alone will absolutely 100% beat Brazil. Also, I think we might match up decently with Italy if our floor defense improves a little bit, especially if Sylla is not on the floor. Sylla was horrible all 3 of these scrimmages. fair. *especially if Sylla IS on the floor*

Italy gets hot for like a stretch of points and then they go *meh* for so long, it's really frustrating. I know it's a scrimmage, but you can tell that Serbia has gotten better while Italy has just looked not good this whole time. I think they might regret not going to the VNL for more reps. Agree. 16 matches vs. 3 "scrimmages"? The VNL was a good warm-up for teams leading up to the Olympic Games. The VNL teams had plenty of matches to work on lineups and cohesiveness, etc. They've also now had a chance to rest up a bit since the VNL (aside from final tune-ups) and should be much better prepared than the teams (A-teams) who skipped it.

It will be interesting to see who ends up in the medal rounds and whether the tactic of skipping the VNL will pay off for Italy and Serbia or if they will come up short due to lack of consistency.

I think it was a gamble to skip the VNL. I understand resting players who may have needed it (Bosko, for example), but a team also needs to be ready for competitive play. The pool play will enable some of the teams time to work out the kinks. But, will it be enough? We’ll see!

I think I would start this line up if I were Terzić.
S: Ognjenović OH: Milenković, Blagojević MB: Rasić, M. Popović OPP: Bošković L: S. Popović
With this line up the team might not get much offense out of the Outsides but passing will probably be much more stable with Blagojević on the floor. Milenković offers about at much offense as Buša does but at the expense of slightly less passing ability.
With this line up. Maja will be able to feed the middles and Bosković will be able to take out the OOS garbage.
I do however think that Terzić will live and die using Mihajlović. I think she will start and be subbed out once per set across the back row by either Blagojević/Buša, whoever isn't starting opposite her.
Thoughts?

Supposedly Terzic gave an interview where the Olympic roster is going to be released this/next week.
I guess the one from the Olympic site may or may not be it

I expect him to at least try Mihajlovic at the start, after all they are not at risk of not making it out of pool play. If things aren't going well then I think probably Busa/Blagojevic or Milenkovic/Blagojevic on the outside. Instead of M. Popovic I think we see Aleksic at first.
Even if Mihajlovic plays well for her, I'm not sure if it's better for Serbia as a whole. I feel like Boskovic/Mihajlovic/Bjelica has a lot of overlap and the problem is it's difficult for Serbia to play 2 of them on court and not mess up their reception.

I think it’s definitely possible…. It’s just the passing of Popovic and Busa has regressed… a lot

The funniest thing is Boskovic might actually be a better passer than Brankica.

I thought I saw Bosko in the reception line during some of the scrimmages with Italy? If she can take the passing pressure off Mihajlović, kind of like Vargas did last season with Fenerbahce, AND if Bosko can pass decently well/better than Brankica, then that opens up a whole lot of new options for them and we have a whole new ball game. THAT is why I think Bosković is the best opposite in the world. She has a better all around game than Paola does.....for now.

I would like to see Rasic see a large amount of sets. I absolutely think they should be feeding her on just about every good pass and even if it’s a little off I’d like to see them run her on the gap. Gotta get the most offense out of the middle we can get without a healthy Brankica

I just hate that she seems like a pill of a human. Oh well. It just makes it harder for me to support the team whole heartedly. But, I do not want to derail this thread. So.....moving on.
