When is the last day for teams to announce their rosters? I don't think there's any rules on announcing rosters / making it public per se, but I think the final deadline for submitting the rosters to the Olympics is either during this week or next week (the rules aren’t super clear)

Aren't international tournaments (not specific to volleyball) required to submit the roster at a specific date to check for eligibility and for other teams to challenge the roster?

Not sure if my post was unclear, I just meant that the teams had to submit the rosters by a deadline that I was not sure about (but is coming up soon, I think there’s a July 5th hard deadline for sports entries of all sports). I don’t know the rules for public announcement though since it’s hard to find rules about that if there are any. In summary, the rules are super unclear and hard to find lol

Don’t know if it’s been announced but I’m also wondering who will be doing the commentary. I was slightly surprised not to see Sunderland at VNL.

Honestly, no surprises here. Isac seems to be fine after a minor injury scare yesterday.

I remember hearing Clayton Lucas in Rio but I forgot how I watched or how the commentary was handled lol. Maybe it was a BBC stream? Also found the NBC commentary lineup for Tokyo, I'm assuming for both men's and women's. INDOOR VOLLEYBALL: Paul Sunderland, Play-by-Play Kevin Barnett, Analyst Heather Cox, Reporter Kenny Albert, Play-by-Play* Amy Gant, Analyst*

probably the last OG for most of these players. I'm team France all the way, but I want Brazil to go out with a bang.

I distinctly remember him calling the 2019 Women's final because he made such a huge deal about the gamble Karch took by calling that mid-rally challenge during match point against Brazil.

I thought he did commentate some of the FIVB stuff but maybe it’s only when they were televised/American streaming? And the international streams differ? Honestly I’m kinda blanking cause 2019 and prior feels like such a long time ago.

Coach Nakagaichi from Japan conducted an interview about VNL/Olympics and he stated his team's condition was improved after he released the Tokyo roster during VNL. I know a lot of people were criticizing the timing from USAV. However, for Japan it helped reduce anxiety and the younger players were able to play more freely/without as much stress during the remaining VNL matches.
Also, he mentioned that his team's goal is to get 3 wins in pool play and hopefully get a good quarterfinal matchup. As expected, he believes that Iran, Canada, and Venezuela are must wins to accomplish those goals.

I think Pool A could be very entertaining, not as much as Pool B but still.
