I hate the time gap between these matches. Like, I don't see any of them going 5 sets. Maybe Italy/Argentina, but that's if both teams are on their game. Sorry Disc808 -- I'm bailing on the Japan/Brazil match. I'm rooting for the boys, but Brazil is a tall task. I can't watch it turn into a beatdown. I want to remember the trio from your profile pic that took down Iran in 5 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜  |

Russia is just at another level. Too good! Canada made it interesting and close, at least. Congrats to Canada for reaching the QF. I think Russia will win Gold. If Poland is the matchup, I would probably favor Poland at this point. I don’t think Russia would handle Poland’s serving pressure as well as Poland would be able to handle Russia’s. Both super physical teams though. I agree with you. But, only IF Poland makes it out of the Quarterfinals. Poland has not gone farther than the Quarterfinals in the last 4 Olympics (2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016). Will it be "Fifth Time's the Charm"? We'll see....  |

ROC 3-0 over Canada
Brazil 3-0 Japan
Argentina 3-1 Italy
Poland 3-2 France....secretly I think France may win this but I DO NOT want to see them advance...not that I like Poland either frankly.

For my predictions that I can make now that my team is out.
Brazil 3-0 Japan
Italy 3-1 Argentina
Poland 3-2 France
I think France matches up well with Poland. Their serve receive can hold up for sure, and if Ngapeth and Patry repeat their effort against Brazil, this will be a tight match

Despite the numbers, Japan's MBs have actually been more imposing than I've seen in the past. And I agree, it's going to take quality production from all three pins to make this interesting. |

Although I will say, he’s not that great of a defensive libero. |

I miss the thundersticks 😩 The atmosphere would’ve been absolutely electric for Japan’s win over Iran, and for their upcoming quarter final match. Such a shame we never got to witness that stadium rocking. |

I've heard some people are worried about team USA's future. Could the amount of foreigners in NCAA volleyball be impacting USA's youth pipeline? Half of both BYU and Hawaii's starters were foreigners when they could be developing great Americans.
