We'll be watching Gonchorova mostly in this match. Camera doesn't shoot anyone else than her in Russia's games, it's kinda annoying lol do NOT come for the Russian queen. She’s GORGEOUS. We are LUCKY to see her. The game being played is just a bonus. Lmao She's gorgeous and also has a lot of Botox so no impression on her face. I'm not against it. It's just too much Gonch every time lol

I hope to see team B for this match. Maybe start with them and if it's not working mix it with team A. I mean they qre there to play and experience the OG. Is it too much if they play 1 set or a match. I dont see any big difference with the players. Want hill play, krob to regain herself from that poor game against turkish, drews to battle that starting spot omce more. chi, and of course hancock.

Russia looks better than the VNL and that was really close (granted we had Hill at libero). Honestly, I'm excited for a good test against a really physical team, especially if they keep up this level of play. This Russian coach has a good resume and he's really revolutionized how they play.

This match makes me nervous. I still have nightmares of Malova digging everything in sight when they swept us at the 2015 World Cup (six years ago I know, but still)

It’s clear that Russia is not the same as when they played Italy. I’m sure their win over China gave them lots of confidence (especially because they were down 12-19 in the fourth and even faced two match points). Gonch will get hers, but the US needs to make sure they have disciplined blocks on Voronkova and Federovtseva. Also the US needs to avoid getting blocked a lot, hopefully MBH is up for this game

A win over a China team in freefall should not distract us from the fact that Russia is messy AF.

A win over a China team in freefall should not distract us from the fact that Russia is messy AF. From my watch, the only reason Russia won was because they found a weakness to exploit. Basically China's middles are just too slow. They'd run somewhat fast to the outside and hit seam every single time. They'd get blocked occasionally but were probably successful 70%+ of the time. China just could keep up. Thus I don't see any reason we'll lose this match

A win over a China team in freefall should not distract us from the fact that Russia is messy AF. After 6-8 years of internal turmoil in the Russian VB Federation (with regards to the women's team) and the Russian National Team coaching, I think it misses the point to dismiss the win over China or the obvious improvement in team dynamics (which I believe/understand is fundamentally the beginning of a shift from the players seeing, thinking or reacting as if they are "victims" of circumstance.)

I'll add Russia's roster later.
FYI, Voronkova's name is misspelled.
