What this match told me is that literally anything can happen from now on. I have no idea who gets what medal. TBH, I think that is the case with the Top 6 teams in the World on both the men and women's side. On any given day, any team can beat the other. Hey, I don't think I've ever heard that before: "On any given day, any team can beat the other."

The anti-Hancock mob can retire the pitchforks and torches now But they won't.

Egonu is so overrated when she plays with the NT. I keep saying that but nobody believes me lol I think it's because disagreeing with you is usually the safe bet.

Washington has to be the most expressive player we’ve had in a long time. Every time the camera zooms to her after winning a point she looks like she just won the lottery.

Re the officiating, thank god for international replay systems - replays where an initial no touch was called on Egonu swings, there were a number where fingers moved very clearly. It wasn’t micro or anything it was like obvious. There was also a couple where they called touches on USA swings and it was very obvious on the replay there was no touch. The Washington slide in set 3 was pretty memorable.

And from the few I've seen, take 30 minutes each lol

Camera quality and definition definitely not as good as international attention the collegiate level. These replays are crystal clear. College is grainy and who knows what’s going on ..

watching the replay now and Pietrini reminds me of 2012 Piccinini.

if micah hancock continues as setter the usa is in big trouble. Please state why you believe this. She had some questionable sets but I was happy with her performance.

I wrote this earlier, but thoughts... USA WNT does not run any combination plays. Are we too predictable? Pins, middle 1s, slide by Washington, and pipes in the backrow. Should we not run any plays? We Can barely run our quick tempo offense now, Id rather not add complexity lol. For the most part our plays seem to cover all the main attack lanes. I’m not sure running combo plays would help too much, we actually got single block coverage a decent amount of the time, esp when we went middle.
