The setting looked better to me with Hancock. I trust KK to play whomever gives us the best chance to win

I don't know. I really liked Hancock's setting in this match over Poulters. Everything felt more natural and not forced. I think there was better ball distribution that included the middles and wasn't just a force it outside set. I kind of want to keep seeing Hancock in there setting. And no, that doesn't mean I want to see Poulter not get better. Agree but I'm concerned with Hancock's bic sets and her sets to the left sides being inconsistent location trapping too many times. Yeah, that can be a concern. I'd hope that would resolve itself with more play time though. Just being able to work through things with your hitters. But I find that her better distribution should help give the hitters a better opportunity by keeping the blockers a bit more honest. Instead of the blockers just camping hard on our OH's. Because if I was going against the US and Poulter was setting, I'd commit block against the pins and force them to beat us in the middle.

Wondering where all the genius experts are who after the Russia lost said this team was performing below mediocre with the wrong 12 players coached by an incompetent? They just won a brutal pool with two starters out.

They got lucky to come out on top sprinkled In with a bit of solid play here and there

It was so frustrating watching Egonu yesterday. She has the physical capabilities most players DREAM of having, and she throws it all away with her nonchalant attitude and lack of focus. She didn't even act like she wanted to win.

Competitive sports is a bottom line business, injuries, bad performance are a part of it. The US won a ridiculously tough pool with two injuries, and you’re describing that as “luck”

Do you know what players didn’t lay an egg like Egonu in the Italy match? The US. You dismiss these things like they aren’t a part of winning and losing pools. They are specifically what wins or loses pools.

We got lucky China beat Italy and Turkey beat Russia period. However, we need to give the team credit for pulling out 3 impressive wins. Props to the team for bouncing back after a horrible Russia game.

We outperformed, not outlucked both of those teams vs both those opponents, that isn’t luck. You’re literally saying “well, if Italy didn’t lose to China, and Russia would have beaten Turkey, we wouldn’t have won pool” THOSE THINGS ACTUALLY HAPPENED, and they determined who won on an actual volleyball court.

Sure, the US beat those teams that Russia and Italy did not. However, the results of those other teams winning or losing to teams the US beat is completely out of the US's control. With the way China was playing, did anyone think Italy would lose to them?

Just my 2 cents worth. I like Hancock setting the team. Poulter has done well. The only problem I see with Hancock is that she is a little shorter against the bigger hitter. And we need a good block. If she could get her serves in. Double bonus. Hancock and Drew have a good quick connection if JT doesn’t come back. I still don’t understand Hill not playing. I have see Larson play this way before...in a good way...she seems more excited and bonding with the team. I don’t see us winning a gold or silver but a bronze is good.
