If Brazil's performance at VNL was better, I would say this is going to be a match. They just don't have it this year. USA's block, defense, and mentality is so strong. The comparison of this current team to a 2012 USA team is like comparing apples to oranges. To give some perspective as to how hard it is to win gold regardless of opponent or track record leading into final, We’ve NEVER won gold before. Ever I know, that's why this one is gonna be soooooo sweet.

Annie's gum, the hero we did not expect.... but the one we deserved I was right! What did she do with it? Stick it back in her mouth?

Why would it be? You don't even watch the matches usually. And Iron Hammers dgaf about a US-Serbia match-up. Why do you think I don't watch or care, moron? Shut the f*ck up. I gave you plenty of chances to change your behavior. Enjoy your week off!

Why are you judging Brazil by their VNL performance? Shouldn’t you be judging Brazil off of their Olympic performance? Which to my knowledge, Brazil is undefeated and playing well. I still think it’s going to be a match, to say otherwise doesn’t really make sense to me. Because it was two weeks ago? What am I missing here? So b/c Brazil did well five years ago, I'm to think they will replicate this tomorrow? USA's block and defense played the same role at VNL that it has at these OG, and no team has responded including Brazil ( for reference, please rewatch VNL championship.) I was referring to the CURRENT Olympics which is MORE recent than the 1 month + VNL. CURRENT Brazil can push USA. You’re making it sound like it’s 100% a USA win with the language you are using. Also if VNL is such a good indicator of a team’s level and performance then why did China flop? Clearly Tokyo is a very different environment than VNL and it has already been proven (e.g. Russia, Korea, etc.) that ANYTHING can happen. I still think it is anyone’s game. But ofc go USA!

the set scores for USA x Brazil in the VNL final were : 26-28 25-23 25-23 25-21 USA 3-1 both teams played their starters. That's as close as you can get in a match. This should be close. The VNL final was also 6 weeks ago. Do you stats of this game? Just curious of how much Tandara impacted and what her numbers were.

They did flop, the last pool play was with China and we didn't need the win to get to finals. China was already out. -- I am coming on strong but I just feel it. Hard to put into words. The team chemistry and unity is palpable, I think you feel it too.

It's fun to watch good athletes, especially when they win.

The only way I see her absence being a factor is at a mental level. Her teammates may feel bad or be distracted (but obviously this is speculation and a stretch). Also I’m guessing Rosamaria will replace her? She had a really good game against ROC in the quarters when she came in for Tandara.

Foluke (2021) ≤ Foluke (2012) Haleigh > Christa Chiaka > DSA JT ≤ Destinee Annie/JT > THP Jordyn/Micha > Lindsay/Courtney Jordan = Jordan MBH < Logan Kelsey/Kim > Megan JWO > Nicole/Tamari . Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa….. Sorry but I gotta reply. And I like Poulter & Hancock very much. Berg>>Poulter>Hancock. Hooker>Thompson. 2012 Foluke>2021 Foluke Megan v Kelsey v Kim is tough because a passer Megan was not, but as a offensive option if we’re struggling I’d still take Megan. Everything else looks good.

Most of her points came in the early sets. She became a nonfactor later and was replaced. Her replacement is having a very good Olympic showing.

And is way more comfortable/better hitting from the left pin in rotation one. MBH will have to be on her game. She was great last night... but 7-7-27 won't cut it against Brazil
