I think the Pan Am team will consist of lots of University athletes that are on the NextGen team - not sure how competitive that team will be? This loss for Canada really hurts. This will drop them to 165 points, below colombia. (but keeps them ahead of the Czech Republic) The Pan Am cup doesn't have a ton of weight... but with the margins this thin? they should genuinely sit out the tournament. Not a bad idea - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻- can you call up Winzer and offer her some advice lol. I wonder how well that would go over - Vball Canada would probably love to save the $$. |

If you are Canada, you are hard rooting for Brazil and Colombia (or Colombia to lose a lot). You need to root for Sweden and France to lose in the Euros as soon as possible.

Canada has more wiggle room than I though they did, regarding rankings. But still, not enough to be comfortable.
Losing those China points they gained in the VNL really hurts

Also, Van Ryk is literally a top 10 opp or borderline top 10 opp in the world. She deserves to be set better balls, and really so does the whole Canadian team. She just needs to be thrown high balls lol. Megan Cyr is still the best setter to connect with her tbh
The fact that she’s been outplayed offensively by both opposing opposites at this event says a lot

It's such a pity that Canada does not have a good setting option. Imagine Gray, Maglio, Cross, and Van Ryk all hitting off one of the US setters.
On the bright side, I'm happy for Abercrombie and I'm excited to see her at the World Championships next year! #FreeAbercrombie squad make some noise!

Losing those China points they gained in the VNL really hurts I did the math for CSV (approximate) If Colombia sweeps everyone, but loses to Brazil they will finish at 185 points, Argentina will be at 158. If Argentina sweeps everyone, but loses to Brazil, they will finish at 175, Colombia will be at 167. Canada is at 165 right now... They basically want to root for Colombia... or hope for upsets to be the safest. |
