Kaileigh Truslow committed to USC. Would make a good 4 or 5's defender. She's a big trick player which I don't think fits the coaches style. Looks like the defender side has 4 likely starters. Thomas, Pater, Henson, Truslow. 4 likely blockers White, Goellner, Gessner, Coakley. What exactly do you mean by trick player? Option/1 ball stuff or something else? Thx

Great job on the coaches for picking up another transfer with 3 years of eligibility, a great thing for the program long term. I'm not completely sold on Truslow yet since she was rotating between the 5s and bench at an inferior program and really struggled in Gulf Shores. Good thing is she was just a freshman and the coaches have all the time in the world to develop her game. Could see her at the 5s at SC as a defender. We'll need all the viable defenders we can get at this point.

There's still Walker who can do both or split (though I think she's much better at the net), and Karl who can block. Hoping for a Walker redemption season since she is so talented and physical but error prone and lack the finesse shots. Some other new and unfamiliar faces should make for a dog fight to be a defender at the 4s-5s (Truslow, Kok, Bolyard, Hong, etc.)

I think USC will be vulnerable next year. They will be lucky to start the year being ranked in the top 10. Although, with the coaches and personnel they have, I won't be surprised if they finished near the top. Maybe top 5. I don't think it'll be a 5peat tho.....

Seriously? You think they will start the year ranked 11? They may not start the year as the top team but they will start and end the year in the top 5 worst case scenario. The team I actually wonder about is FSU if any of the top teams. Maybe some of the better players are tired of her shuffling and having 28 players on the team?

Maybe, but hasn't USC been vulnerable and in rebuilding years for the past 2 seasons?

Won at Gulf Shores in 2022 as a sophomore at Court 1 against LSU. Seems to have played 3s in 2023 and sat out 2024. Graduated this spring so one year left. 6’1” Truslow certainly won a bunch as a junior. Glad to have her! In response to another post, I would never call FSU an inferior program. It speaks to Truslow’s competitiveness that she was able to be a starter at Gulf Shores as a freshman on a team with a deep roster. Also, 2023 was USC’s rebuilding year. 2024 was not since the team was so deep and veteran laden. 2025 will be another opportunity for the coaches to work their magic with plenty of new starters. http://instagram.com/p/C7mY_hFsUoS

FSU losing Truslow isn’t great for them. They need ball control. They have some good players coming in but need some quick defenders who can play behind players like Higgins or Koenig. Truslow starting on that roster as a Freshman was impressive, she is a talented player. They have a stacked coaching staff for defenders too, Niles and Lucena both outstanding defenders themselves. Also Brook Bauer if she returns, great staff. I definitely wouldn’t count them out.

There's TCU, UCLA, Stanford, LMU, Cal Poly, Hawaii,FSU, CAL, ASU,Texas LB State.... Experience matters and USc lost too many experienced players. Unless the coaches can create the same 2023 magical season.

More sage wisdom from the guy who told us that USC "cannot win" the championship this year and guaranteed that UCLA would win. I do think TCU deserves to be preseason ranked number 1 with the spaniards returning to the team post-olympics. They will have incredible strength at the top of the lineup which will provide them with lots of flexibility in their 3-5 pairs.
