VS GB, Sheff should give his bench some time, either way it should be a quick match. Starting lineup proposed OH - Demps, Jardine MB Smrek, Hart/Rettke RS - Wohlert S - MJ Lib - Macdonald DS - Reed Need to get Gregorski some quality time, GB is 30 miles from her hometown. Not that Madison is all that far either but let grandparents and other family/friends make the short trek north. I'd say we go: OH - Demps, Jardine (Reed) MB - Smrek, Hart (serving) RS - Wohlert (DS Ashburn) S - Hammill L - Boyer Demps needs more 6 rotation experience. Let Boyer run the defense. |

We rarely see Sheff just make wholesale changes to starting lineups. His changes usually have some developmental purpose. Jardine and Smrek are good calls. They may be needed at some point during the season. I can see AnnaMac coming in for the same reason, but I don't expect a complete overhaul of the backrow. I doubt Wohlert will start, though she may come in at some point. I think MJ may be getting red-shirted and Hilley has to develop connections to the other hitters in case they are needed.
That's a good shout for Gregorski. I don't know what the situation is with that tight hamstring.

That's kind of an odd comment... :-) Yes, Green Bay is 25 or 30 miles from Appleton/Menasha (my home town as well; same high school, too). But the match is being played in Dekalb, Illinois, farther from GB/Appleton than Madison is. Her parents are at the Field House for pretty much every match, and I've seen her sister there more than once. Don't know about her grandparents. (UWGB has two players from Appleton - different high schools from each other and from Gregorski - as well as from Oconto, Luxemburg, Oshkosh, Stevens Point. There could be a number of players she knows from high school, club, etc.) |

Game day bump. Updated the likely starters to reflect Hart's injury. With Smrek, we'll have at least two meters of middle blocker in each rotation (6'8" = 203.2 cm).

I’d try to sync up Jon & Diane but I’m already feeling super lazy.
Anyway, we’re up thanks to Rettke, but it’s really ugly right now.
