"The Huskies are leading the Pac-12 after nonconference play with a .296 attack percentage and they are also first in service aces per set at 1.87. Claire Hoffman ranks sixth with 4.00 kills per set and her .362 attack percentage is highest among players ranked in the top-20. Marin Grote is second in the conference with a .421 attack percentage. Anyone know the status of Hoffman and Sanders? Lauren was at the UW football game with the players this weekend so I’m assuming she’s well now or that if she was quarantining due to contact, she’s done. Although Summers did a great job filling in for her.

The big question is Hoffman, if she’s not back Utah can beat them.

This one is hard to predict due to WA injuries and Utah losing their last two. If WA has Hoffman, with or without Sanders, they win in 4. Without Hoffman, Utah wins in 4. Utah had such a big win over Nebraska, which doesn't look as big now that Nebraska has lost both matches since, but so has Utah.

At the FSU match, at the end of warm-ups, Hoffman, sitting on the bench, was so absorbed in conversation with a girl behind her that she didn't notice that the rest of the team had left the floor. Leslie, who hadn't left the floor yet, said something to her, at which point she gave a quick glance around, then suddenly leaped up and literally sprinted off the floor, full gallop. Didn't look like a girl who was hurt, at all.

Bush and Bays, who replaced Hoffman's six rotations. Endsley has been serving, with Calle otherwise subbing for her backrow.

I can imagine a scenario where Cook decided to bench his star player (for being late to a meeting?) to show he wasn't playing favorites (while shoring up team discipline) and as a pretext for giving younger players a chance to play under pressure (without backups). The only problem was, if Tui hadn't shoo'd her off the floor, she might have been late for another meeting.

Revenge for losing twice to UW in the spring?

I'm not sure how the Utes could possibly get "revenge" on Boise State or BYU by beating Washington. That's not how revenge works.
