Good presser from cook. You can tell the media is fixated on Sun not starting and kept digging about it. They asked what it was like telling her and he said it’s the same as Whitney “here’s who we are going with.”

Lexi Sun hides behind a guy on the sidelines and doesn't participate in team games ? She looked to be interacting and supportive to me for the entire match. She seemed bummed against NW, but good today. Not easy, says a lot about her character in a good way IMO. My observations for what they are worth. |

Maybe she should transfer to somewhere that needs immediate help on the outside, like Oregon St. Not sure if this is possible now via NCAA rules, but please check. |

She’s a team player and you can see her supporting from the side and contributing in different ways. |

I wouldn't blame her if she is having second thoughts about returning this season. returning AA or not, the top 2 hitters in the freshman class were coming in. She had to have known it wasn’t going to be given to her. It’s simple: play better than them or watch them do it better than you. I have no issues with her not playing if Cook doesn’t believe she is the best option. I’m not convinced yet that she shouldn’t be on the court, but we all saw her abysmal production when she was playing. Batenhorst hit 333% today with many out of system sets. That gets the nod, IMO.. Nonetheless, her endorsements alone with the rule change ensures she isn’t regretting coming back. I’m sure her bank account has swelled quite rapidly…and a masters that is payed for? I’d take it all. |

Batenhorst with her height and arm reach has a unique ability to hit OOS or imperfectly set balls, with deceptive speed, IMO.

I’d take it all. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was a bad coaching decision, that is way above my pay scale. Coming into this season, she likely believed that the job was hers to lose and felt confident that she would come out on top.
At his point, I would hope that she is determined to win the starting job back and hasn't resigned herself to losing the job.
We don't know if professional volleyball is on her bucket list. If pro ball is on her list, the type of contract she will be offered will likely be effected if she does not have a strong super senior season.
